Hanging Valleys is an alternative band founded by Thom Byles in 2016. Thom is an English-Mexican singer-songwriter based in Greenwich, London. He plays acoustic guitar in an unusual manner combining percussive and melodic phrases overlaid by falsetto vocal harmonies.
Thom is joined by Mike Philips (guitar, vocals) and Alexis Meridol (beats, sampler). Their music
has received support from Radio X, Radio 1, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio as well as Q and Time Out magazines.
Although very much its own sound, Hanging Valleys have been likened to the music of Bon Iver and José Gonzalez.
In May 2016, Hanging Valleys' debut single 'Endless Wave' was self released through Soundcloud and youtube. It currently has 93K plays. Following in its footsteps is their latest single 'Coast Days' which can be streamed below;
