Motörhead reopen the gates with rare ‘Be My Baby’ live cut ahead of Kiss of Death 20th Anniversary Edition

June 11, 2026

Motörhead never did nostalgia, but when the past hits this hard, you make an exception. The band have just unleashed ‘Be My Baby (Live at Lowlands Festival 2007)’, the second track lifted from the upcoming 20th anniversary edition of Kiss of Death, landing 3rd July on expanded double LP and 2CD.

Captured from a previously unreleased radio broadcast, the Lowlands performance is Motörhead exactly as they should be remembered: raw, ragged, and roaring through a festival crowd like a runaway truck. Lemmy’s unmistakable snarl, Phil Campbell’s fire‑breathing guitar tone, and Mikkey Dee’s machine‑gun precision collide in a version of ‘Be My Baby’ that feels both feral and celebratory.

For fans who never caught the band in their imperial live phase, this is as close as you’ll get without a time machine.

Released in 2006, Kiss of Death was Motörhead’s 18th studio album — a number that would be absurd for any other band, but for Lemmy and co. it was just another excuse to go harder, faster, and heavier.

The record doubled down on the momentum of 2004’s Inferno, leaning into a darker, more muscular sound. It also brought in heavyweight guests:

  • Mike Inez (Alice in Chains)

  • C.C. DeVille (Poison)

And it delivered some of the era’s most enduring Motörhead cuts: ‘Sucker’, ‘Trigger’, and the towering fan favourite ‘God Was Never On Your Side’.

Two decades on, the album stands as a reminder of a band who never softened, never slowed, and never once compromised.

Features from the 20th Anniversary Edition

  • Half‑speed mastered from the original tapes

  • New liner notes by Classic Rock’s Dave Ling, honouring the late, great Phil Campbell

  • A full bonus live LP from Lowlands 2007, available on vinyl for the first time

  • Three additional bonus tracks on the 2CD edition

It’s the definitive version of Kiss of Death, rebuilt with the care and respect Motörhead’s legacy deserves.

Whether you were there in 2006 or you’re discovering this era for the first time, this anniversary release captures Motörhead at a moment when they were still pushing forward, still evolving, and still flattening everything in their path.
