New York based rock band We Are Scientists arrive at Rescue Rooms in Nottingham raring to go, keen to promote new material on the back of the release of their fifth studio album MEGAPLEX.
With support from London based sisters, INDIAN QUEENS bringing a bit of their shoegaze and post-punk vibes, the scene is set for the headliners.
W.A.S. take the stage with ‘Your Light Has Changed’ lifted from their latest album.
With a set-list spanning the band’s career but with a preference for albums With Love And Squalor and Megaplex, it's the second song of the night ‘Great Escape’ that really moves the crowd into overdrive.
With other tracks including ‘After Hours’ and their cheeky sense of humour, the energy levels of both the band and the crowd stay on a high throughout the night, the audience going absolutely crazy, bouncing up and down for the last track of night, ‘Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt’.
The crowd seemed to love the band and the band was admittedly impressed by the crowds at Rescue Rooms as well, saying, “you’re getting your pints but you’re throwing them. You know the songs, but you’re not singing over us!”
But that’s not really the end, as the band comes back for a three song encore of ‘Dumb Luck’, ‘Nice Guys’ and ‘Textbook’, this night of absolute highs, and no lows comes to an end all too soon.
