NEWS: 25 years after its original release, the sophomore album by MONACO is being re-released

April 28, 2025

The second MONACO album is being reissued – 25 years after its original release – and making its first appearance on vinyl. The 25 th Anniversary Expanded Edition will be available from 30 May 2025.

Monaco was the 1995–2000 project of Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook alongside his collaborator David Potts, both of whom were also members of Revenge. Originally released in 2000, the Monaco album followed the band’s successful 1997 debut Music For Pleasure, which was reissued in 2024 by Music On Vinyl.

While still rooted in the melodic basslines and synth-driven energy reminiscent of New Order, the second album took a darker, more introspective turn with David Potts again sharing lead vocals, and revealed a more personal and emotionally resonant side of the band.

The expanded CD edition will be presented in a double CD digipack, including a 16 page booklet and with 13 bonus tracks, providing a definitive edition for collectors and fans alike. For vinyl enthusiasts, the album arrives in a deluxe gatefold double LP set pressed on 180gm minty ice green coloured vinyl.

This version will include a 4 page booklet with five bonus tracks and is limited to 2,000 individually numbered copies.

The 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition of Monaco is a long-awaited return of a cult favourite; finally given the reissue treatment it deserves.
