With so many new records coming out in the next few weeks, we thought it would be good to pull a few together and share the news in one feature, here you go….
FLETCHER - IN SEARCH OF THE ANTIDOTE
out 22nd March via EMI Records
Pop phenomenon FLETCHER is set to release her highly anticipated second full-length album In Search of The Antidote, the follow-up to her critically-lauded debut album Girl Of My Dreams - a 2022 LP that entered the Billboard 200 at No. 15. In Search Of The Antidote delves deeper into the ultra-vivid storytelling and unfiltered introspection that have long defined FLETCHER’s boundary-pushing brand of pop. The album sees FLETCHER exploring such complex themes as identity, insecurity, ego, and self fulfilment with distinct production and powerful vocal delivery. FLETCHER collaborated closely with GRAMMY® winning producer/songwriter Jennifer Decilveo to produce the album alongside a lineup of hitmakers including Aldae, Jon Bellion, Julia Michaels, Monsters & Strangerz, and Michael Pollack who are known for their Diamond-certified hits with the likes of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus (who FLETCHER performed alongside in an internet-breaking performance in 2023).
GOSSIP - REAL POWER
out 22nd March via Music For Nations
Beloved, pop/indie-rock trio Gossip returns with Real Power, their first album in 11 years, set for release on March 22, 2024, via Sony Music Entertainment. The album marks a reunion with acclaimed producer Rick Rubin, who helmed the band’s pivotal 2009 album Music For Men. At the coaxing of Rubin, the band started recording in 2019 after completing a tour for the ten-year anniversary of Music For Men. Recorded at Rubin’s home studio in Kauai, the process was temporarily halted by the pandemic and resumed when restrictions lifted. The result is an 11-track celebration of creative expression, and the power of chosen family in the aftermath of collective and personal trauma. The timing is ripe for a Gossip reunion, and Real Power heralds a new era and renewed sense of purpose for the trio.
BLU DETIGER - ALL I EVER WANT IS EVERYTHING
out 29th March via EMI / Capitol Records
Magnetic pop sensation and bassist, Blu DeTiger is set to release her highly anticipated debut album All I Ever Want Is Everything. The new album depicts a portrait of Blu at her most unstoppable and her most vulnerable, as she captures the thrillingly unpredictable process of coming into one's own. The album also includes 'Cut Me Down' featuring Mallrat, which Blu produced alongside GRAMMY®-winning producer John Hill and Sam Homaee. After building her profile opening for artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Charlie Puth and Jungle and headlining her own tours around the U.S. and Europe, Blu became one of her generation’s most sought-after bass players, lending her talents to Bleachers (with whom she appeared on Saturday Night Live), Chromeo, Olivia Rodrigo, Dominic Fike, Caroline Polachek and FLETCHER, among others.
THE LIBERTINES - ALL QUIET ON THE EASTERN ESPLANADE
out 5th April via EMI Records
The Libertines are excited to announce the release of their fourth studio album entitled, All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade, where the quartet of unlikely lads have gathered to solder a strongest-ever internal bond, and scale new creative heights resulting in the best music of their extraordinary career so far. Featuring eleven new sparkling Libertines songs with songwriting credits shared among the four band members, the album was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Dimitri Tikovoï (The Horrors/Charli XCX/Becky Hill). The album - named All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade as a nod to their hotel’s street address and their enduring love of Erich Maria Remarque’s landmark anti-war novel - is an unequivocal triumph.
PALACE - ULTRASOUND
out 5th April via Fiction Records
Armed with an already extensive back-catalogue of stunning music, Palace return with the announcement of their brand new, deeply personal, fourth studio album, Ultrasound. The record’s production sees the band reunited with Adam Jaffrey, 8 years after working together on their debut album, and arrives off the back of Part I - When Everything Was Lost’ and ‘Part II - Nightmares & Ice Cream, the band’s 2023 companion EPs. While writing the first batch of songs for the album, frontman Leo Wyndham’s partner suffered a late miscarriage. Ultrasound naturally became an open diary of a year-long struggle from devastation to deliverance, and it picks its way through the wreckage, seeking light, with the languid and lustrous pop-gaze.
MAGGIE ROGERS - DON'T FORGET ME
out 12th April via Capitol Records
GRAMMY® Award-nominated songwriter, producer, performer Maggie Rogers will release Don’t Forget Me, her third studio album, on April 12 via Capitol Records. Rogers co-produced Don’t Forget Me with Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris) at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, writing eight of its 10 songs with him and penning two alone. Her debut album Heard It In A Past Life entered Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart at No. 1 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Now certified Gold by the RIAA, the album has sold nearly a million copies worldwide and accrued one billion combined global streams. Her 2022 follow up album, Surrender, also earned widespread praise, with Rolling Stone hailing Rogers as a “pop music prodigy…an artist who’s in it for the long haul” and Pitchfork noting, “she sounds renewed, submitting to the pull of her heart without apology.”
BELLAH MAE - NEVER WASTE A HEARTBREAK
out 3rd May via EMI Records
Last year witnessed rising pop storyteller and lyricist Bellah Mae reach new heights, taking her meticulously crafted anthems on the road as part of her first ever sold-out UK tour and connecting with fans across the country, all whilst ranking up an impressive 40 million streams across releases. Now firmly poised to make 2024 her biggest year so far, Bellah is releasing her second EP Never Waste A Heartbreak. Bellah Mae’s writing style incorporates her influences ranging from Dolly Parton to Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus. In the tradition of other Gen Z artists her music defies categorisation, incorporating ever expending sonic touchstones to create something that feels wholly unique. There’s nothing more special to Bellah than a song telling a story, in words so specific that they feel like they were written exactly about you and your life. The EP's latest single ‘2053’ came with the announcement of Bellah's Never Waste A Heartbreak Tour kicking off this May.
BIG SPECIAL - POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES
out 10th May via SO Recordings
For BIG SPECIAL - Joe Hicklin (vocals) and Callum Moloney (drums) - their sound is one that comes from vital, frustrated young working-class voices that don’t always get heard on the scale they should do. It’s a frustration that comes to the fore through a voice that is at times coarse and raw, but sensitive, desperate and soulful at others. The band’s debut album arrives in the wake of a sold-out winter UK headline tour and upcoming tour with DIY Now & Next, multiple playlisted singles on BBC 6 Music, and their presence as a hotly-tipped prospect for 2024 in a number of Ones To Watch lists. POSTINDUSTRIAL HOMETOWN BLUES is about learning that we are connected by our common struggles and though dark and rageful, the album holds a quiet sentiment of love and hope. It's about laughing at the face of the void, recognising its oppressive weight, holding hands and moving forward.
