’BAN ALL THE MUSIC’ IS ZANE LOWE’S HOTTEST RECORD
“genuinely thrilling” – Sunday Times Culture
Nothing But Thieves unleashed their new single “Ban All The Music” with Zane Lowe making it his Hottest Record last night on his Radio 1 show.
‘Ban All The Music’ is a thrilling mix of styles and takes its influences and runs with them, creating a monumental statement of intent that will help propel these Southend natives to new heights in 2015. With small but very effective experimental flourishes the band pushes their own musical personality onto the influences and bring a refreshing and genuine excitement, whilst frontman Conor Mason’s vocals are instantly distinctive. It’s both thunderous and melodic, a breath of fresh air that is set to see Nothing But Thieves be one of the break out acts of 2015.
Nothing But Thieves have already started picking up plaudits. Zane Lowe has been behind the band since the start, playing both ‘Wake Up Call’ and ‘Graveyard Whistling’ and now has made ‘Ban All The Music’ his Hottest Record, whilst Fearne Cotten also heavily supported ‘Graveyard Whistling’. The band received tips across the board at the start of the year from the likes of Spotify, iTunes, XFM, MTV, Daily Star and Napster.
Live they are already establishing themselves as an essential act. Following a packed BBC Introducing Show at Koko they are set to support Darlia on an NME Awards bill before heading out on tour with them in February.
