London based Rumble-Bop Trash Blitz 5-piece band Oh! Gunquit released a brand new single “Sinkhole” backed with instrumental “Stampede” via new One Little Indian imprint Winwin Records on 1st December.
Oh! Gunquit have been performing since 2010 after neighbours Tina [Lead Vox/Trumpet] and Simon [Guitar/Vox] met frequenting a North London vinyl DJ cellar club.
They have played shows, festivals and events in London and Europe alongside acts such as [Black Lips producer] King Khan and the Shrines, Fat White Family, Public Service Broadcasting, Andrew Weatherall, Keb Darge, and a wild impromptu stage invasion gig by eccentric 80s pop-punk prince Adam Ant.
To date, they have put out two limited self-released 7''s stocked through Rough Trade; the second being single of the week in ArtRocker Magazine and also have a track featured on a Japanese compilation of Garage R’n’R with the all-girl riot band The 5,6,7,8s.
Oh! Gunquit have recently been recording tracks at the all analogue Gizzard Studio in East London's Hackney resulting in the fiery, exotic sound on this release. This single, 'Sinkhole', is a stab at rampant gentrification, social cleansing and impending environmental fuck-ups.
Oh! Gunquit are bringing their unique blizzard of horns, spirited howls, buzzsaw guitars, and fun riotous rock & roll abandon to the capital
