OSWALD SLAIN: The Bristol oddities bringing their wry, wild rock n' roll to New York City

February 13, 2026

Some bands thrive on polish. Oswald Slain thrives on glorious chaos. The Bristol outfit return this spring with Hot Boys — a sleazy, tongue‑in‑cheek self‑help anthem for the delusional generation — and they’re celebrating by hopping across the Atlantic for three New York City shows in March 2026. It’s their first-ever US trip, and it couldn’t come at a better moment.

Fresh off the momentum of their 2025 debut album BUCKY, Oswald Slain are stepping into a new era: louder, looser, funnier, and more emotionally unhinged than ever.

Oswald Slain have been baffling and delighting critics since their earliest releases:

  • “Americana with a British twist… one of this year’s best choruses.” — Backseat Mafia

  • “Raw energy and a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly bold.” — Babystep Magazine

  • “The sound of rebirth: messy, honest, and utterly captivating.” — 1883 Magazine

Their sound is a patchwork of classic Americana influences — think Neil Young, The Band, dusty vinyl sleeves and road‑worn guitars — fused with the grit and humour of Bristol’s DIY rock scene. It’s music that can make you laugh, ache, dance, and spiral, sometimes all in the same verse.

The band’s new single Hot Boys is Oswald Slain at their most playful and most painfully self‑aware. Written by lyricist Fitz, it’s a celebration of delusion, dopamine, and the absurdity of trying to be everything at once.

It’s sleazy. It’s chaotic. It’s knowingly ridiculous. It’s the soundtrack to hyping yourself up in the mirror while fully aware you’re still just a worm at the kitchen table, chain‑smoking and waiting for reality to catch up.

Recorded in February and released in March, Hot Boys captures the band’s instinctive, no‑rules approach: fast, messy, and full of charm.

To mark the release, Oswald Slain are heading to New York City for the New Colossus Festival — a rite of passage for rising international acts. They’ll be hitting Manhattan’s Lower East Side three times:

NEW YORK DATES — MARCH 2026

  • 4 March — Pianos, NYC (New Colossus Festival)

  • 7 March — Ki Smith Gallery, NYC (New Colossus Festival)

  • 8 March — Pianos, NYC (New Colossus Festival)

Three shows. Three chances for New York to witness the band’s blend of humour, heart, and fuzzy, Americana‑soaked rock.

Because they’re not pretending to be perfect. Because they’re not chasing trends. Because they’re making rock music that feels human — messy, funny, soulful, and gloriously unpredictable.

Fans of Velvet Underground, Father John Misty, The National, The Strokes, and The Black Keys will find plenty to love, but Oswald Slain are carving out their own lane with every release.

Hot Boys lands 6 March 2026 on all major streaming platforms. New York gets the first taste. Everyone else can join the chaos shortly after.
