Record Store Day is set to return for its 13th year on Saturday 18th April 2020. The event is the biggest record buying day on the calendar as thousands of independent record shops across the globe host parties and stock hundreds of limited-edition releases to celebrate.
And to kick things off we are excited to be re-launching #RSDUnsigned – the competition that gives one Under the Radar UK act the opportunity to get their music pressed onto vinyl – for free!
The competition returns on Thursday 9th January for the third year. It has previously been won by Barbudo and Heavy Rapids who have gone onto receive great radio support, perform alongside bands such as The Courteeners, secure slots at festivals and even headline their own tours.
Entering the competition is easy, as artists simply need to upload a one-minute video showcasing their music here https://www.soundperformance.co.uk/submit
The prize is hosted by long-time vinyl manufacturers Sound Performance, who are official partners of RSD once again in 2020.
Chris Marksberry, CEO of Sound Performance said: “Sound Performance are proud to be an official sponsor of Record Store Day for 2020 and we are excited to once again be launching the RSD/Sound Performance unsigned competition. New and emerging independent talent is the lifeblood of music and we look forward to seeing the videos from this year’s entrants. The winners get such a great platform to show their music in front of the industry with invaluable exposure and ongoing support from RSD and Sound Performance and I would encourage every band and songwriter that would like to be discovered to enter this competition”
