Hailing from Modena, Italy, Rev Rev Rev's sound is influenced by first-wave shoegaze, as well as psychedelic rock, re-metabolizing these elements into a loud, woozy, fuzz-driven context.
Their debut single 'Catching A Buzz' b/w 'Blue on Red' (Win-Win Records, 20th October) serves as a fine introduction to the band's hazy soft/ loud signature style: A colossal wall of sound from which emerges spectral, dream-like melodies - singer Laura Iacuzio's sonorus vocal alternating against a powerful undercurrent of malevolence thrown out by swirling glide guitar and driving fuzz bass. Indeed, the band have developed their own self-constructed stomp boxes to help create the desired effect - further enhanced by disorientating kaleidoscopic video projections in their live sets.
Since September 2013 Rev Rev Rev have toured across Italy, Austria, Germany, Slovenia and the Czech Republic and are now gearing up for their first ever UK shows in late October, which run as follows:
Oct 24 - The Shacklewell Arms, London (supporting Damo Suzuki)
Oct 25 - The Rafters, Maidstone
Oct 26 - The Adelphi Club, Hull
Oct 29 - BLOC, Glasgow
The band formed in the summer of 2011, the release of their debut EP, 'Hypnagogic Visions' the following year quickly catching the attention of independent webzines and radio stations across Italy.
Rev Rev Rev is...Sebastian Lugli - guitar, Laura Iacuzio - vocals / bass, with Andrea Dall'Omo - bass (live)
