Satellite Stories is a Finnish indie band renowned for packing out gig venues despite choosing to record material but release it via their own methods. After a successful UK festival run they were inspired to stick around, opting to record in Kent with producer Simon ‘Barny’ Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Bombay Bicycle Club) and have come up gold with their latest album Vagabonds due for a March 2015 release.
The first single The Trap is loud, fun, energetic with varying instruments from guitars and drums to horns and tambourines, definitely inspired by the loud and intrusive but adrenalin-bursting atmospheres of previous gigs they have delightfully shared with the world. Meanwhile early previews of another track Heartbeat give a classic indie vibe but with their own unique touch of electronica and harmonies, an uplifting summer anthem of whirling guitar strings and sing-along vocals.
They are about to embark on a European tour with dates in Denmark, Spain, and their native Finland with, of course a quick stop in the UK, having already proved itself popular as 'Sold Out' is stamped across the single London date. You can pre-order the new album for March but get ready to be rocked with the new kids of indie on the block as Satellite Stories can only go up from here.
