Sebastien Tellier has announced details of the release of his new single. Aller Vers Du Soleil will be released on Monday August 4th 2014 through Because Music UK.
Taken from his forthcoming album, L’Aventura, which was released on July 14th 2014, the single will also be available as a 12” featuring remixes from Hercules and Love Affair and Tom Furse of The Horrors.
It will also be accompanied by a stunning video directed by Ruda Cabral. Very much inspired by the prevailing theme of the album, the video was shot in Brasilia and Jericoacoara in Brazil.
Sebastien has also been announced to play alongside Little Dragon on Sunday July 20th as part of this year’s Somerset House Summer Series. The show is already sold-out.
He also plays an in-store at London’s Rough Trade East on Thursday 17th July, the week of his album release. Tickets for this appearance are free with the purchase of the album from the Rough Trade East store, or when customers buy the Sebastien Tellier bundle online.
L’Aventura is French singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tellier’s official fifth album (discounting soundtracks and compilations) for Record Makers – and first for Because Music in the UK. It followsL’Incoyable Verite (2001), Politics (2004), Sexuality (2008) and My God Is Blue (2012).
It is a concept set in a part-mythical Brazil, cinematic and adventurous, musically it adds exquisite Brazilian tones to Tellier’s usual idiosyncratic palate of Gallic pop & chanson, baroque and electronic.
A unique and hugely talented artist, Tellier’s identity can be found in the triangle between genius, eccentric and enigma. The son of a musician whose first inspiration came from Pink Floyds Atom Heart Mother, he released his first album in 2001 and his break-through single La Ritournelle in 2004 and in subsequent years has carved out a diverse and esoteric path, from working with Daft Punk, Air and Sofia Copolla, to appearing on stage on a golf-cart representing France in 2008’s Eurovision Song Contest.
