RIP Records are delighted to announce newcomers Velvet Morning to their roster. The group released their new single ‘Green Whale’ with b-side ‘Pig Scene’ on 28th September 2014.

Velvet Morning rose to prominence at the start of the year after self releasing an astonishing EP that included tracks such as ‘Blue Jean Baby’ and ‘Barrett Land’. The EP garnered much praise from online and printed press thrusting them into the limelight and securing them some key shows - absolutely blowing away audiences with their unpredictable and captivating live performances.

Hailing from the picturesque English sea-side town of Leigh-On-Sea - Velvet Morning is the brainchild of Samuel Donald Jones who, after spending some time writing almost 2 albums worth of (unreleased) material - has taken his bedroom project and turned it into a swelling mass of hallucinogenic sound. Bringing to the stage with him his full touring band and becoming Velvet Morning, in all its glory.

Taking inspiration from rhythm and blues, shoegaze and psychedelic bands of the last 50 years, Samuel brings to Velvet Morning an ever increasing hypnotism and layering of precisely thought out guitar sounds matched with the smooth grooves of the rhythm section leaving the listener wanting every track to carry on forever.
