If you fancy folk tunes with uplifting guitars and sing-along melodies, Tim Vantol is back with a new full length album. 'If We Go Down, We Will Go Together!' was released on 4th April by Unkle M might have taken the Dutch singer-songwriter 4 years after his debut and acclaimed LP “Road Sweet Road”, but the result was worth the wait.
'If We Go Down, We Will Go Together' features folk and country genres but what contributes to Vantol’s uniqueness is his punk rock style that is evident in all of the tracks and also reflects his attitude towards being a road musician and the freedom that goes with it.
All of the tracks are nicely produced and instrumented carefully by a full Dutch band and are led by Tim’s raw and gruff voice that does not lack emotion and skilfully carries you along with optimism even on your moody days.
The album consists of nine slow as well as fast paced tracks and is a relatively short one (coming in at just 24 minutes) which allows you to listen to it all over again multiple times and sing along with Tim from the first second when the self titled song kicks. The closing track is sung a cappella, which comes as a nice surprise and leaves you with a feeling of sweet disappointment for this quick end. With many similarities to Chuck Ragan combined to his own individual acoustic punk style, this artist will definitely grab your attention and 'If We Go Down, We Will Go Together' will induce you to listen several times in a row. You can stream the whole album on Spotify. Enjoy!
