Festival season is in full flow and last weekend it was the turn of CORNBURY to welcome the crowds soak up the lush surroundings of Great Tew Park for a weekend of fun and frivolity. The lineup was, as in previous years impressive.

On the Friday the music kicked off with the brilliant KATY HURT, a true mainstay of the festival circuit with her unique brand of Country/Americana.

During the day the two stages accommodated the likes of TOM SPEIGHT and GAZ COOMBES (Ex-Supergrass) before culminating in a fabulous evening line up. First up were ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN followed by the phenominal voice of BEVERLEY KNIGHT who ripped through a songbook of class soul and pop. Finally the day's headliners THE SPECIALS took to the stage with their iconic persona and catalogue of hits from the eighties. As first day's go, it was a stunning start to the festival.

Saturday kicked off nice and early with performances from West Country girls WILDWOOD KIN, a force to be reckoned with on the country/folk circuit. Then the crowd were treated to a stunning set of ‘million selling songs’ by the legendary producer TREVOR HORN and his band. From his early incarnation as ‘The Buggles’ (Video Killed The Radio Star) to Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s 'Two Tribes'. His guest vocalists had the crowd singing along and dancing throughout the set. He was joined on stage by LOL CREME (10cc) it was definitely a trip back through time on a gorgeous sunny day.

As the evening approached, the women took over with the enigmatic KT TUNSTALL and ELKIE BROOKS leading the way in their own unique style. Every set filled with hits and a brilliant light show from both stages.The day ended as British legends KEANE returned to Cornbury exactly 6 years on from their last performance there. With a new album due out in September and a World Tour on the horizon, the huge crowd were treated to a spectacular setlist of the very finest British indie rock. With Tom Chaplin fresh from a solo project and showing why vocally he is better than ever before, the love for the band was clearly evident and their performance faultless.

Sunday wrapped up the festival with a more mellow lineup in the form of English Tenor ALFIE BOE, PAUL CARRACK (Roxy Music, Squeeze) and finally THE BEACH BOYS, led by MIKE LOVE who was an original member, they went on to deliver their unmistakable blend of west coast 60's melancholy and psychedelia.

And once again the glorious Oxfordshire countryside had hosted a diverse and family friendly mix of music and entertainment, there was some great food and drink available throughut the weekend, and most importantly……sunshine! No one was left feeling short changed, and I’m sure that many people left with some wonderful memories from a fabulous weekend!
