GUILTY PLEASURES
Guilty Pleasures is a place where everyone is welcome. It’s irreverent, unapologetic and above all fun… Like prom but without the dodgy date, over priced dress and all those awkward memories!
It’s like a night where Lady Gaga popped down the pub and Britney was putting on a karaoke night with Rihanna, while The Spice Girls were behind the bar serving drinks and The Backstreet Boys were playing pool. A night where Madonna and Bryan Adams were playing darts and Freddie Mercury was on the fruit machine, all the while Eminem and George Michael were having a fag in the beer garden.
So join them as they take you on an all night nonstop pop journey, where all they ask is that you check your poker face at the door, shake it off, cut loose and don’t stop believing!
It really is what Friday nights were invented for!

UNTAMED
SONGS WRITTEN UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF TOURETTES
Danny Sumbler was born and bred in Brighton, and first began treading the boards at age 12. A prolific singer-songwriter, with testimonials from Johnny Cash producer Jack Hale and actor Patrick Bergin – he has composed over 300 compositions and is also an author, maker of films and an artist with a large repertoire of evocative paintings and drawings. His work is unique in whatever medium he chooses to express in.
Danny recently gave a BBC TV interview about his short film Call of the Jesterwhich will be juxtaposed with his live acoustic show. Danny links his own and many other mental health conditions to the ways of the shaman and mystic – by choosing the road of alchemy and preserving an incorruptible mind.

WYE OAK
Wye Oak are coming to Exeter following the release of their triumphant fifth album The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs.
The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs begins with an explosion. For a few seconds, piano, drums, and a playful keyboard loop gather momentum; then, all at once, they burst, enormous bass flooding the elastic beat.
The moment declares the second coming of Wye Oak, a band that spent more than a decade preparing to write this record — their most gripping and powerful set of songs to date, built with melodies, movement, and emotions that transcend even the best of their catalogue.

HAYSEED DIXIE
Is there really such a thing as a hillbilly band covering rock classics? You betcha. They are called Hayseed Dixie and they play Rockgrass.
Barley Scotch is on lead vocals, fiddle and guitar. The Reverend Don-Wayne Reno is on banjo, Deacon Dale Reno is on mandolin and guitar and Jake ‘Bakesnake’ Byers is on acoustic bass. Hayseed Dixie are an awesome live band, who have, to date, released 9 albums. The latest, Killer Grass was released in 2010. A live DVD entitled No Sleep ’til Liverpool is also available.
Songs by artists such as Kiss, Outkast, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith get the Rockgrass treatment, but the band play original songs too. – numbers such as Moonshiner’s Daughter, Kirby Hill and Blind Beggar Breakdown raise the roof at live shows. Hayseed Dixie songs cover the four key elements of any song worth playing; – Drinkin’, Cheatin’, Killin’ and Hell! – The band also recorded an album of rocked-up bluegrass classics, called *Choose Your Own Title using the name The Kerosene Brothers.
Brothers Dale Reno and Don–Wayne Reno are the sons of bluegrass maestro Don Reno, who wrote many hits, including Dueling Banjos, and the band even once played at a house-warming party for AC/DC bass player Cliff Williams.
Beware of instrumental cover tracks mis-tagged as ‘Hayseed Dixie’! (often from the Pickin’ On… series of albums.)… as Barley Scotch has said, “If a song’s got word’s we’ll sing ’em!” – A full list of albums and tracks can be found at the band’s website.

PUSSY RIOT
RIOT DAYS
PUSSY RIOT ARE BACK!!!
Following their sell out 2017 tour Pussy Riot are back in the UK with a brand new tour.
PUSSY RIOT need little introduction, the Russian protest art collective have one of the most important voices of the last 10 years who’s lyrical themes include feminism, LGBT rights, and opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom the group consider to be a dictator.
Gaining global notoriety in 2012 when three of the groups members, Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Yekaterina Samutsevich were imprisoned for “hooliganism motivated by religious hatred” for their preformance inside Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, a protest directed at the Orthodox Church leaders’ support of Putin during his election campaign. Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikov were released in December 2013 (Samutsevich was freed on probation in 2012). In March 2014, Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova founded Zona Prava, an organization that defends prisoners’ rights. Alyokhina is a recipient of the Lennon Ono Grant for Peace and has also been awarded the Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thought. In September 2017 Maria Alyokhina released her memoir RIOT DAYS (Penguin Books), the accompany piece to the book is the touring play RIOT DAYS (“Revolution”) that merges punk, electronica, theatre, documentary footage and protest.
RIOT DAYS (“Revolution”) will see Maria Alyokhina, Kyril Masheka – her main stage partner on “Burning Doors”, Nastya (one of the leaders of Pussy Riot of 2011-2012) and Max of the music duo AWOTT (Asian Women On The Telephone), and Olga (another Pussy Riot member), perform throughout the UK. The project is produced by Alexander Cheparukhin and directed by Yury Muravitsky – one of the leading Russian theatre directors, winner of the “Golden Mask” annual Russian theatre award.
