Upon listening to The Molochs' new album, America's Velvet Glory (which graced us with its presence on January 13th, 2017), you might feel like you have been transported in time - either to the carefree days of the late 60's or the early 90's in which 'alternative' music was getting ITS first taste of the tormented world. Either way, you will discover an "unmistakably retro band with an absolute contemporary slant" - those few words alone give you a fantastic idea about the treat you are about to discover.

Toploader is a British indie rock band who found success in the late 90’s with their debut album Onka’s Big Moka, on the feathered nest lay the golden egg, a cover version of a track by King Harvest called “Dancing in the Moonlight”, this catapulted the band into the stratosphere, helping them go on to sell over a million records and kick starting their career.

I heard that the band are playing at The Terrace Bar in the heart of Exeter and I arranged to chat to the guitarist Dan Hipgrave about the early days, his self confessed confusion of social media and what the future had in store for one of the most successful bands of the late 90’s….

It's been 22 long years since Senseless Things last played on the same stage, they announced recently that they are to play a show at Shepherds Bush Empire in London on Saturday March 25th. I was keen to chat to them about as much as I could squeeze into my two hour slot, I packed my bag, set my alarm and got my head down early as it was going to be a very long day!

I had the pleasure of reviewing the up and comers, 'Your Last Day', a pop-punk 5-piece band from Exeter. Being an American, I have no bloody idea where Exeter is but if music like this comes from this so-called "small town", then its a place I'd LOVE to visit!!!

Duke Garwood is a rugged, London, multi-instrumentalist who's first album was released in 2005 on Loog Records, this was followed by a multitude of others (8 to be exact) through the years to the present. 12 years on, his latest release Garden of Ashes, is a lo-fi, distorted collection of mellow yet gritty numbers, with an obvious ode to the dirty blues ensemble he's been mastering for years.
