Steve and Lorna of Manchester based rock duo THE HYENA KILL joined Steve in the press tent to talk about camping, early wake-up calls, hangovers all before performing at Download Festival for the first time.... 

This is the album as concept, striving for a place beyond mere mortality with no fussy track skipping, no chance to step away, step back, escape its embrace, again just like Talk Talk. It moves the listener to rejoice in the mass of detail, the perfect imperfections, the fact that BEAUTY LIKE THIS may seem somehow impossible. His voice seems to do little, yet it reverberates, a ghostly accompaniment to the array of skilfully assembled instrumentation. Each listen repays with more depth, more everything; leaving nothing to chance at all….

Having seen Cancer Bats a couple of years ago in Exeter, Steve was keen to meet up with the driving force of the band and have a chat before their set at this year's Download Festival....

We'd been chasing Mark from Black Foxxes for ages to have a chat with us following the release of their second long player Reiði, we finally managed to grab 5 minutes with him ahead of their performance at Download Festival, here's how we got on.

We were at All Points East to capture the sonic output of both Patti Smith and the mighty Nick Cave, read on to see how the show unfolded….

We saw and fell in love with the sonic output of this wonderful blues/rock/soul quartet from London at an event hosted by the HARD ROCK CAFE to showcase just 4 acts that will be gracing the Hard Rock stage at the ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL which runs from 21st to 24th June.

We caught up with Adam on a fine Sunday afternoon, he'd been out doing terrible things (cos he's such a badass) and once he calmed down, we posed some questions to him, read on to see how we got on....

After an afternoon in Exeter, we decided to head to The Phoenix to check out the ‘PHONIC FM AT 10’ photographic exhibition which is a collection of images celebrating community radio station Phonic FM in its tenth anniversary year.

An invite pinged into my inbox from a renowned London based PR company, inviting me to spend an evening at The Hard Rock Cafe where they were showcasing four bands who were to perform at the Isle of Wight Festival. It was on a Wednesday night and as my calendar was clear, I decided to take the underground to Green Park and venture down to see what was going on.
