With less than a week to go, we wanted to whet your appetites by taking a look at some of the acts performing at this year’s Shindig Festival.

Debuted as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’ on BBC Radio 1, Girlfriend is Christine and the Queens’ first new song since her already iconic debut record Chaleur Humaine, released to near-universal acclaim in France in 2014 and the UK in 2016, and having sold more than 1.3 million copies to date.

Beautiful Days Festival takes place at Escot Park on the outskirts of Exeter and attracts a loyal fanbase, some of whom have been attending year on year with their families to see some of the finest bands available set against the stunning backdrop of the Devonshire countryside. Just what is it that keeps people coming back year after year? Having attended the last 4 festivals, I think it's a combination of the layout of the site, the eclectic choice of acts that they put on and the fact that it really is the BEST festival in the South-west by a country mile.

The Mothers Ruin in Bristol played host to a night of live music, showcasing some of Bristol's brightest upcoming bands in aid of two good causes Macmillan Cancer Support and Winston's Wish, we were there to capture the action....

The legendary Farnborough Groove compilation is back! Other than the ‘Best Of Volumes 1-10’ released in 2016 (that covered 1991-2004), there hasn’t been a new Farnborough Groove released for 14 years!

Arkells are a five piece Canadian rock band, formed in Hamilton, Ontario in 2006 and were fortunate enough to have been invited by Frank Turner to support him and The Sleeping Souls on the UK/Irish leg of their Be More Kind world tour. We arranged to chat to frontman Max Kernam ahead of the Exeter show, read on to see how we got on....

Jamming Station and young musicians in Totnes are feeling blessed. At the end of a nail biting two weeks of gathering public votes to support their National Lottery funding bid, this grass roots local community scheme (set up by three local mothers Beth Bee Love, Jacqui Perks and Lee Friese Green) which has been bringing 13-21 year olds together in a safe and supported space to create and play music for three years now, has just received the news that they have won £50K via the Peoples Project fund!

Frank Turner will release his seventh studio album, Be More Kind, on May 4th through Xtra Mile Recordings/Polydor Records. Months after the release of Songbook, a career-spanning retrospective which also saw reworked versions of tracks from across the past decade, Be More Kind represents a thematic and sonic line in the sand for the 36-year-old…..

Another day, another sold out show, another load of sweaty fans heading home after an inspiring night of kick ass rock 'n roll courtesy of Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls.
