Burn It Down Festival takes place in Torquay on August 31st and there are over 30 bands performing including BASEMENT, FATHERSON, BLACK PEAKS & DREAM STATE

First up are hometown heroes THE EXPERIMENTAL, read on to learn all about the band and why you need to make sure that you’re there to watch them play….

Dermot Kennedy started the year with an outpouring of critical acclaim in the 2019 tips lists, with the BBC including Dermot in their ‘Sound of 2019’ shortlist, being crowned ‘Best New Artist’ via a public vote by NPR Slingshot and tipped as a key artist to watch in 2019 by YouTube Music, MTV and Ticketmaster. Since then, he’s performed a sold-out run of shows in Australia and America including a stand-out debut at Coachella, as well as playing recent single ‘Power Over Me’ in his debut TV performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert followed by an appearance on one of America’s biggest talk shows with a performance on The Ellen Show.

We were invited along to the O2 Academy in Bristol to witness him, in his element on his biggest headline tour to date, here’s how we got on….

The Isle of Wight Festival has announced line up details for Cirque De La Quirk and Kashmir Café.

The eccentric and nonsensical world of CIRQUE DE LA QUIRK has announced that it will bring the likes of Chris Tofu, Danny Way and Phibes to the pure shores of the Isle Of Wight Festival in June.

Following years of previous success, The Isle of Wight Festival today announces the KASHMIR CAFE line up for the 2019 event. Island favourites Tankus the Henge will headline the Sunday, with special guests Plastic Mermaids. Saturday night headliner is Buster Shuffle, with 77:78 closing the Friday night, and Rusty Shackle on the Thursday.

You’ll be well aware that we are working with Boardmasters Festival in order to help them promote some of the acts performing at this year’s festival that takes place from 7th - 11th August at the site in Watergate Bay. We have already chatted some amazingly talented artists and performers and I am going to add to the list with a Truro based songstress called MOG JONES. We caught up with her recently to chat about the fetival, some of the acts that she’s excited about seeing and whether she’ll be having a surf whilst she’s at the festival, read on to see how we got on!

It was a few years ago that I first saw JAMIE YOST perform, I remember it well, it was the BBC Introducing stage at Glas-Denbury Festival, he took to the stage accompanied by a violinist and a bearded chap called Matthew Gordon Price (who is also an immensely talented performer in his own right). He played an incredibly stripped back, honest and heart rendering set which literally made the hairs on the back of neck stand to attention. This is someone that you NEED to have in your lives and now you can as he’ll be performing at the Net Loft at BOARDMASTERS FESTIVAL on Thursday 8th August from 3:40pm. 

We caught up with Jamie to chat about the festival and which of the other many acts that he’s looking forward to seeing whilst there, see how we got on….

In 2017, I was sat in the media tent at Boardmasters Festival in Newquay just minding my own business when a lovely lady approached me and asked if I wanted to have a chat with her. We exchanged cards and she introduced herself as Joanna Cooke. We had a great chat, talking about influences and how she got into music and from that day on, I’ve always made the effort to catch her playing live wherever it may be. Her voice is incredible and coupled with her skilled piano playing, she really is becoming a tour de force!

We heard that she was performing at Boardmasters again in 2019 so thought it would be a great chance to meet up and have a chat about what the festival means to her, find out which of the other talented acts she’s looking forward to seeing and whether she does the clotted cream BEFORE the jam or vice versa, here’s how we got on….

May I take a moment or two to introduce an acoustic soul singer songwriter from Cornwall, he’s called JOE HURWORTH and we chatted to him about how he felt when he got the email confirming that he was booked for the festival, some of the other acts appearing on the bill and whether he’ll be indulging in a cream tea and a spot of surfing, here’s how we got on….

We were introduced to a Cornish indie rock 4 piece recently called The Rezner, we caught them playing live in Totnes and after a brief chat with the frontman after the show, we were hooked. When I saw that they were playing the Net Loft stage at this year’s Boardmasters Festival, we wanted to get in touch and have a chat to find out exactly what the festival means to them, here’s how we got on….

Fresh from releasing a brand new album, Hollywood star Kiefer Sutherland is heading to Exeter for a one-night-only appearance on Friday August 2nd at Exeter Phoenix.

We LOVE Boardmasters Festival, it takes place in Watergate Bay (just outside of Newquay in Cornwall) and always features the FINEST bands and artists from across the world. The lineup this year is immense and nestled in amongst the plethora of amazing acts is a super talented Exeter based musician called SADIE HORLER.

I won’t lie to you, we’ve been following Sadie very closely over the past few years (not in a strange stalking kind of way, that would be creepy!) and have watched her grow into a fine songwriter who is admired both locally and further afield. When I heard that she had been selected to appear at this years festival, I just had to get in touch and chat about what it meant to her. Read on to see how we got on…

We were invited to chat to Jason Williamson from SLEAFORD MODS a couple of months back and we had a great chat about the upcoming album release, the accompanying tour and of course, the various summer festivals that they’d be performing at. It seemed like a matter of days from when we published the interview that it was time to go and watch them perform tracks from their healthy back catalogue as well as from their latest long player Eton Alive at Bristol’s O2 Academy, read on to see how the night unfolded!

Newton Faulkner is currently celebrating ten years in the music industry and as a result, stopped off at The Great Hall in Exeter to play a massive 2 hour set to his adoring fans. There was laughter, there were jokes and there were kazoo’s, read on to find out how the evening unfolded!

What a weekend it’s been so far, I literally got off a plane from London (Ontario) recently after spending time with a super talented chap called Dean Mason who’s latest project "Gnostic Gorilla" has been gaining steady momentum since his earlier work under the monicker "The Lonely Ghost Project". He’s been experimenting with electronic music and has previously released many albums including St. Basil's Asylum which is available now on Cleopatra Records which is the first for Gnostic Gorilla.

He arranged to meet up for a chat at a disused roller disco on the outskirts of town, I took a cab down there and once inside, strapped on my skates and awaited his arrival, here’s how I got on….
