Our first show if 2021 is absolutely incredible, our featured artist is a Glaswegian singer songwriter called KERRI WATT, we open up with a track lifted from her forthcoming debut album 'Neptune's Daughter' and we chat to her midway through the show, we even let her take the reigns for our exciting 'Takeover Trio' feature where she tells us about three of her all time fave tracks.

Teenage Fanclub have announced news of their tenth studio album, Endless Arcade, released 5th March via their own label PeMa in the UK/Europe and Merge in the US. To mark the occasion the band have shared a video for “Home”, the album’s 7-minute opening track. Shot by Donald Milne in Edinburgh’s Leith Theatre, the video can be viewed below.

Upon the first listen, I am transported back to indie club nights in the mid-noughties, where DJ sets struck the delicate balance between just enough guitar to be cool and just enough tempo to fill a dance floor. Cooler Returns toes the well trodden path somewhere between The Ramones and The Strokes, drawing on early punk sounds and pop sensibilities but swapping ire for dry wit. Kiwi Jr distinguish themselves by their obscure name, droll commentary and occasional harmonicas.

††† (Crosses) recently dropped a surprise release, a cover of 90's electro-pop band Cause & Effect’s “The Beginning Of The End”.

If you’re missing some festive feels in your life right now, THE LITTLE UNSAID can put a stop to that right now as they have just released a video of them performing Jona Lewie’s classic festive foot-tapper ‘Stop the Cavalry’.

Latest single ‘Little Friend’ encourages us to take stock of what we have in the here and now, and to drop the ceaseless quest to live another person’s life. The track lives somewhere between a lullaby and a ballad.

The time has come where we take a look back over 2020 and tell you about some of our highlights (and lowlights) from the music industry. Rather than a top 10 bestest albums in the world ever list (they’re so 2019) we decided to mix it up a bit and add some different categories this year including Best Live Stream, Most Atrocious Festive Song, Boxset of the Year & Best Record Store Day Release. Read on to see if you agree or disagree with our selections.

"Scrunchy melodic rock n roll... right up my street!" - Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music.

"Top find of Camden Rocks (2019) so far... great set!" - Frank Turner.

THE ARTS DESK

TOURISTS hail from Torquay, where the english-riviera juxtaposes against the melancholy of suburban decline. Perhaps a product of its environment, “Another State” pairs driving post-punk rhythms with ghostly reverb-laden vocals, accented by layers of circling synths…..
