BASTILLE - Birmingham O2 Academy 15th April - Live review

April 18, 2022

Bastille took us to the future on Friday night in a visual spectacular on a grand scale.

After witnessing the stripped down, laid back album launch sow in Bristol a month or so ago, we were keen to experience the full shebang Bastille show and were certainly not disappointed.

We catch up with Matt Thomson from THE AMAZONS to discuss their forthcoming album

April 17, 2022

It’s not every day that you get to chat to the front man of a band that have made such a mark on the UK music scene. I first heard of The Amazons years back when they were just starting out and after falling in love with their first two albums, I was keen to learn more about what had gone into their next long player titled ‘How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me?’ set for release on 2nd September.

We chatted about the direction that the band are going in, how the global pandemic affected them, a very amusing story about being bitten by a horsefly at Reading Festival resulting in a piggyback ride from a member of Enter Shikari and Matt’s favourite memories of their recent arena tour supporting Royal Blood.

Everything Everything - Brighton Dome, Tuesday 12th April 2022 - Live Review

April 15, 2022

My anticipation for this much delayed gig rocketed to levels far above the sky in recent days - yes, a gig originally scheduled for April 2020, put off and put over not once, but twice. The ‘Re-Animator’ LP had endured a muted release, despite containing some startlingly brilliant songs from surely the most exciting band of the last 15 years.

musomusofm on the radar playlist #50 - Giuseppe Paradiso & Meridian 71, Nick Costa, Isolated Corners and more....

April 15, 2022

Well folks, it has finally happened, we have reach a landmark with musomuso.com, today heralds the 50th playlist that we have featured on the site. Granted, I’ve been doing playlists for some time now but I’ve never really tracked them through so I lose count as to the actual number that I’m up to.

With 50 playlists under our belts, we expect sponsors to come flocking in with ludicrous offers or equipment, music and maybe even cold hard cash but if not, you know what? we don’t care, we LOVE what we do here at musomuso and hope that you (the listeners) enjoy it too.

Since the tail end of 2020 when we started to publish these playlists, we have helped exactly 450 acts to get their music out to a wider audience and hopefully allowed them to open more doors as a result. It really is that simple, we publish the playlists, you listen to the music on them, simple!

So, what have we in store for #50? Are there any special guests? high profile acts? in a word….no! BUT, you will find another 9 stunningly talented acts who thoroughly deserve to be here.

April 13, 2022

Another playlist closer to the magic 50 but lets not wait for that, lets celebrate the incredible talent that have been lucky enough to make it onto #49!

I have been scouring the tracks over at musosoup.com where I am fortunate enough to locate about 90% of the acts that get added to the playlists and there is certainly no shortage of amazing acts out there that deserve 5 minutes of your hard earned time.

If you can spare 5 minutes, how about sparing 30 minutes in order to listen to all 9 of the acts on the playlist, maybe you can do so on your daily commute, or at lunchtime if you’re alone? either way, do try and make the time to check it out.

April 11, 2022

As usual, I didn’t have to dig that far before a barrage of quality tuneage came rumbling my way, so much so, I have enough for a couple more playlists this side of the month.

We had entries in from all over the world and the content is a proper mixed bag, dare I say ‘something for everyone’, I think as long as you love discovering new music, then there really is something for you!

As usual, our feature acts can be found below the embedded playlist, give them a click, a like or a share, if their music moves you, get involved, don’t be afraid to contact the band directly and tell them HOW their music moved you, I’m sure that they’ll be over the moon to hear from you!

It’s Saturday, take a well deserved deep breath and know that for most people, they get two days off before their alarm clocks ring again, stirring your bodies from sleep to sit at a desk for another 37.5 hours of work before they can clock off again for the weekend!

What’s that? It’s only been 24 hours since the last playlist came out? I know, but as I said in the last playlist, I am running a couple of days behind so I am doing what I can to catch up…..

April 6, 2022

To celebrate his latest album, Jack embarked on a 12 date UK tour which kicked off at the Plymouth Pavilions and finishes up at London’s Eventim Apollo.

It was on this tour that we sent two of our newest recruits to the O2 Academy in Newcastle to catch Jack’s live show, would it be awash with middle aged ladies all trying their best to launch their panties onto the stage (a la Tom Jones) or would it be more of a wholesome night of entertainment? Read on to find out….

On a very cold April night in Bristol, Pet Needs set The Louisiana alight with a turbo charged set - Live Review

April 5, 2022

Colchester based punk band Pet Needs have had a whirlwind 12 months or so following the release of their first LP ‘Fractured Music Party’ on Xtramile recordings, produced by record company stable mate, Frank Turner. The album is a belter and having seen them supporting Frank at his end of lockdown (mid lockdown as it turned out) ‘The Gathering’ roadshow I couldn't wait to see them in a more suitable environment, a small sweaty venue with a very passionate crowd.
