Mucky Weekender took place on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th September on a beautiful site just a few miles away from the bustling city of Winchester and the weather forecast was good, possibly too good. Usually, given the choice of rain or sunshine, I would naturally opt for the latter but when the sunshine brings 32 degrees of Celsius with it, maybe a bit of the wet stuff would have been nice to take the edge off!

I’m not sure how I stumbled upon a Dublin based duo called YAWA, wherever they came from, I’m so glad they did as after checking out their back catalogue, I sent over a bunch of questions for an ‘Introducing’ feature on the site.

When I heard that Swiss born, Berlin based musician Anna Erhard was on her way to the UK to play a bunch of live shows, I was keen to learn more about her and spread the word about ‘170’, her latest track that is fast becoming a main stay on my Spotify playlist. Nestled within the lush confines of Escot Park near Exeter, Beautiful Days Festival celebrated a remarkable milestone in 2023, marking two decades of delivering musical magic and community camaraderie. As the sun set on its 20th-anniversary edition, festival goers revelled in the mix of acts performing over the weekend, a wide variety of great food, and a genuinely enchanting atmosphere that has come to define this local gem on the UK festival circuit.

In the expansive rock scene, Nick Brown from the band MONA has consistently shone as an exceptional and distinctive voice. The undulating currents of 'Nothing is Dead' encapsulate the very essence of life's circular cadence. Brown, drawing from his profound history of navigating personal and artistic peaks and valleys, masterfully crafts a medley of sounds that embodies a sense of revival.

The Long Road Festival, held over the August bank holiday weekend at the picturesque Stanford Hall in Leicestershire, was a wonderful celebration of Americana, Country and Roots music which saw over 70 acts gracing the stages and a vibrant crowd of 10,000 attendees. The event encapsulated the essence of a perfect music festival experience and was enjoyed by all.

Underneath the August skies, the masses congregated at Powderham Castle to watch Pete Tong and the Essential Orchestra play a mixture of Ibiza classics, fusing dance music and orchestral brilliance….
