After 5 years, I finally decided to attend Shiiine On, a festival that celebrates the BEST music of all, the sounds of the 90’s, a decade that helped to carve my sonic path through the multitude of others such as hair-metal and other such genres that I was dabbling in by the late 80’s. The lineup included acts such as The Wonder Stuff, Jim Bob, The Inspiral Carpets, Sleeper, The Enemy, Fun Loving’ Criminals, Ned’s Atomic Dustbin, Jesus Jones and more, acts that I may have seen before, some back in the 90’s so this weekend was going to be a chance to re-establish myself with their sound and energy.

A very interesting band called Lusitanian Ghosts released their 3rd long player in September, I heard it and wanted to learn more about the band so we got in contact with Neil Layton from the band to discuss mono & stereo offerings, recording studios, ‘come dine with me’ menus, dream festival lineups and so much more, read on to see how we got on….

Tonight saw HARBOTTLE & JONAS performing at The Barrel House in the heart of Totnes, they were supported by a duo called Mossy Eyebrows, read on to see how the evening turned out….

We were invited to attend their Torquay show at The Foundry to join them in proving that their four albums (the fifth is underway) have gained them a dedicated fanbase who have helped to promote the band to much larger stages including Reading & Leeds festival where they have played in 2017, 2019 and 2021.

My trip to the Louisiana in Bristol tonight was filled with fireworks, trick or treaters and wet parents following them around the streets of Bristol which made me feel grateful that I was off to a gig. This one for me would be one of discovery having only recently discovered Only The Poets. One thing I had definitely noticed after following them on social media is they are dedicated to their fans and can be found giving Blue WKD’s out to fans in your local Wetherspoons. They also seem dedicated, providing passionate performances and giving there all in their live performances.

For The Lovely Eggs being in a band is a way of life. It’s about art. It’s about creativity and expression. It’s about following your own path and doing things your own way. Holly and David operate on their own terms, spewing out music, records, art and television shows before piling in the van and tearing round the country to perform a load of live sold-out shows.
