Tell the world about yourself?
I'm a Scot who moved to Devon about 5 years ago for the love of a good women (yes there are some!) I spent a few years in the musical desert until I bought my first iPod and rediscovered the joys of music. I still buy CDs as I love the tactile experience but I'm no stranger to downloading (legally of course) random tracks that I discover on the regular MusicMuso podcast - download it now by the way!
Where do you live?
Exeter – it’s awesome.
What you do for musicmuso.com
I’m the principal photographer for musicmuso.com. This mostly involves shooting images for the website from the live gigs we review. I’ll also do the headshots for the other contributors (when I can catch one). I’ve also been known to write the odd blog post for the site as well.
How did you come to being a contributor on the site?
Steve and I became friends through a common passion for music. We sat next to each other at work and spent more time talking about music than doing any “real work”. When he found out that I was a photographer he soon asked me to start shooting gigs (Big Country being the first). The rest they say is history.
Hobbies & Interests?
Music and photography obviously but I’m a keen cyclist, runner and swimmer. I also have a pilots license and fly light aircraft regularly.
Three words to describe you?
Active, active, active!
Favourite artist/band?
Don’t really have a favourite band, but I spend more money on Pink Floyd stuff / music than any other artist.
Likes?
Coffee. Strong black coffee. Not that instant sh*t, but real proper coffee. Cannot start the day without out coffee.
Exercise. Once my body has been kick started by coffee, I need to do something that involves physical exercise.
Technology. I love technology. Tablets, cameras, software – gimme, gimme, gimme.
Dislikes?
Instant coffee. Poor customer service. Unexpected expenditure.
Most treasured possession?
Aside from my wife and kids? My bike and most of my gadgets including my camera.
What will be written on your tombstone? (let’s assume you’re gonna get buried!)
Here for a good time, not a long time.
Biggest achievement to date?
I’m proud to have completed the London Marathon to raise money for charity, but I think getting my private pilots license (PPL) was a big deal for me.
Three things that are still on your bucket list?
Solo skydive, seeing the milky way seeing the northern lights, going on safari, and competing in a triathlon. (that's 5 things Julian, I'll let the extra 2 stand though!!)
