Pete is a regular contributor to the musicmuso website, his features on all sorts of wonderful things often raise a smile and receive feedback and praise from people as far as Outer Mongolia. Pete and I took a trip to Knebworth a few years back, well, 19 years ago to be truthful, we had a great day, crashed into a taxi on the way up to the gig, got lost after the show and ended up nearly dying on the M5 owing to the driver falling asleep at the wheel, all in all, a great day, I'll hand over the reigns to little bro to tell you all about it....

Would you forgive me if I told you the first live act I saw was S Club 7? I was about twelve years old, my mother had already broken my heart by denying me the opportunity to see The Spice Girls live so she reasoned with me and my wish came true to see this seven piece bubble pop group (a septenary perhaps?) take to the stage at Sheffield Arena. I instinctively loved it; the bass kicking you in the guts, the screams of thrill that were unbearable; my poor mother on the other hand wanted to stick pins in her eyes. But really despite this manufactured cringe-worthy act being my true first experience I was really introduced to the thrill of real live music when I saw The Rasmus play Nottingham Rock City in 2004 at the tender age of fourteen.

Adrian Grainger is a fan of good old classic rock aka 'Hair Metal', he plays drums in an 80's covers band called Ashes to Ashes (go check them out, they're rather good), where he is transported back to the 80's with a mullet that would make David Coverdale jealous. I thought that it was only fair that we include her in the #myfirstgig section as I had a hunch it was either going to be a 'big haired' 80's heart throb or a band like BROS, my initial thoughts were confirmed.....read on to find out all about her first ever gig!
