BEARINGS announce new album ‘Comfort Company’ and drop infectious single “Freaking Me Out”

October 17, 2025

Ottawa pop-punk favorites Bearings are back with their fourth full-length album, Comfort Company, set to release 7 November 2025 via Pure Noise Records. To kick off the new era, the band has unveiled their latest single “Freaking Me Out” — a sun-soaked, emotionally charged anthem that blends manic introspection with poolside vibes.

“It started as a simple acoustic track,” shares frontman Doug Cousins. “But the more we built it up, the more fun we had. It lives somewhere between a pool party and a manic episode where you question the meaning of life.”

Listen to “Freaking Me Out” now and check out the official video for a visual dive into the track’s chaotic charm.

About the Album: Comfort Company

Written during long drives and quiet moments between shows, Comfort Company finds Bearings returning to Room 21 in Toronto — the studio where they recorded their earliest work — with producer Kyle Marchant. The result is a deeply personal and sonically expansive record that captures the band’s evolution while staying true to their roots.

From the Warped Tour energy of the title track to the pop-punk punch of “Quick Release,” the album is packed with raw emotion and melodic hooks. Highlights include “Float Away” featuring Derek DiScanio of State Champs, the introspective “Feel Less,” and the haunting closer “Let Me Hate Myself,” which showcases all three vocalists in harmony.

Doug Cousins reflects: “This record feels like coming home. Some songs were written at a cottage, others in a basement — but they all started from a real place. We wanted to make music that felt natural, something we could pour out on stage.”
