After his album 'Last Boat To St. Helena' which we also covered, and a song in November, we are happy to support Martin Aelred Colgan's new release.
As a reminder, he is a multi-talented musician playing the classical guitar, cello, piano, violin and numerous other instruments, Colgan can sing fluently in Italian, Spanish and French. A prolific songwriter who lives and breathes music, Martin studied flamenco and classical guitar in Scotland under the teachings of the legendary French virtuoso Manitas de Plata.
The Scottish singer is back with a tribute to his roots with his own interpretation of 'Auld Lang Syne'.
This is the second release from his upcoming album made as a proposed TV series soundtrack about Robert Burns commissioned by James Campbell from the independent label Hummdrumm Records. Colgan took the offer seriously and spent 6 months producing a soundtrack and a synopsis for a series about Scottish Bard including arrangements and original interpretations of Robbie Burns's best-known works. With this performance, Martin reaches back to Burns himself to showcase and harness the power that the song originally possessed.
