Fufanu are set to play Iceland Airwaves before making their UK live debut at the JaJaJa Festival at The Lexington on the 14th November. They support Damon Albarn at his sold out Albert Hall show on 16th November.
Formerly operating as techno duo Captain Fufanu, with the addition of drummer Frosti to the line-up last year - and the band name shortened to Fufanu – the Icelandic trio began working up a dark, psychedelicized take on 70s/ 80s European music, inspired by Kraftwerk, early Simple Minds, Roxy Music and New Order.
The insistent ‘Circus Life’ will be the band’s debut single in the New Year.
Fufanu is: Kaktus Einarsson (vocals)/ Gulli (guitar/programming)/ Frosti Gnarr (drums) (Frosti is the son of Jón Gnarr Reykjavík’s famed ‘Best Party’ mayor 2010-2014)
