Bad Elephant Music is proud to announce World Turned Upside Down, the second album from Salford’s Trojan Horse, which was released on 13th October 2014.
WTUD Album details:
Four years on from their eponymous début, Trojan Horse have offered up a fourteen song opus, exhibiting their diverse influences from psychedelic pop, jazz, trip-hop, dub reggae, through the darker fringes of 80s hardcore punk, metal, with a dash of progressive rock. In the words of guitarist and vocalist Nicholas Duke – “World Turned Upside Down has been a labour of love, the culmination of three years ingesting a swathe of influences, as well as the world around us, and regurgitating them as a superior art form. Placing that in a musical context, we're creating this artefact of our finest work to date. We know it’s far from shit. Enjoy it without restraint.”
Never ones to shy away from expansive motifs, World Turned Upside Down demands the listener’s attention, tackling political discourse head-on, emblematic of the four-piece’s deep conviction in social justice and equality – no wizards and demons here. This is an album which needs to be digested in its entirety; separate songs form a whole that’s greater than the sum of its parts.
David Elliott, CEO of Bad Elephant Music says, “when we first set up the label, we discussed the bands we'd like to work with, and Trojan Horse were one of the bands initially mentioned. We're therefore absolutely delighted to welcome them to 'the Elephant Collective'. As soon as I heard World Turned Upside Down I knew that we had to work with this band.”

Trojan Horse biography:
Since forming in 2007, Trojan Horse – made up of brothers Nick, Lawrence and Eden Duke, plus drummer Guy Crawford – have steadfastly fought their way against powder puff trends and fads drifting through the music industry, to stand tall as one of the most respected psychedelic, ‘weird rock’ bands currently working in the UK.
Picking up plaudits from Drowned In Sound, The Fly and Gold Flake Paint among many others, the group joined fellow sonic explorers Knifeworld and BEM label-mates The Fierce And The Dead on the Prog Magazine-sponsored ‘Stabbing A Dead Horse’ Tour in 2012 to rave reviews, as well as following up their critically-acclaimed début LP with the EP Fire. the group were also nominated for Best Newcomers at 2013’s Prog Awards. A single, Paper Bells, was released in February 2014.
