Arizona’s progressive heavy‑rock trio Little King are gearing up for a return to the road this July, taking their acclaimed 2025 album Lente Viviente out for its first full West Coast run. For a band now three decades deep into a constantly evolving creative journey, this tour feels less like a victory lap and more like a new ignition point.
Little King spent the early part of 2026 tearing through New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and even dropping a surprise show across the border in Mexico, a run documented in their brilliantly chaotic tour diary, a mix of power outages, road‑life grit, and big‑hearted gratitude. That momentum now carries them westward, where they’ll bring Lente Viviente to life on stage for the first time in California, Oregon, and Washington.
And they’re not arriving empty‑handed. The band will also unveil a brand‑new single, “Opus Perficit,” later this summer, the first glimpse of what comes after Lente Viviente and a signal that Little King’s creative engine is still running hot.
Released in September 2025, Lente Viviente marked a major turning point for the long‑running project. With drummer Tony Bojorquez and bassist/cellist Dave Hamilton joining founder Ryan Rosoff, the trio found a sharper, more dynamic chemistry, one that pushed the album into the most critically celebrated territory of their career.
The title, Spanish for “Living Lens,” nods to Rosoff’s video memoir company and sets the tone for a record obsessed with memory, perception, and the shifting filters through which we understand ourselves. Little King’s lyrics travel across a wide emotional and social landscape, moving from the innocence and bonds of childhood explored in “Catch and Release” and “Dawn Villa,” to the charged questions of immigration and identity at the heart of “Who’s Illegal?” They confront aging, addiction, and the difficult work of self‑reckoning in “Pass Through Filters,” before shifting toward the delicate balance between strength and vulnerability that shapes “Kindness for Weakness.”
Musically, it’s a heady blend of progressive rock, melodic hooks, and precision‑tooled heaviness, dense but concise, complex but accessible, with most tracks landing under four minutes. Rosoff describes the listening experience as “a short, mind‑blowing journey… like Musical DMT.” He’s not wrong.
Little King’s reputation on stage has always been built on two things: meticulous preparation and explosive energy. Rosoff, Bojorquez, and Hamilton bring decades of combined experience, and it shows, tight musicianship, dynamic setlists, and a push‑and‑pull intensity that feels both rehearsed and unpredictable.
Rosoff calls it “meticulous, rehearsed, and RAGING with push and pull energy… PROS with experience.” Fans call it one of the most underrated live rock shows in the Southwest.
This July, West Coast audiences finally get their turn.
For a band with eight albums, 65+ songs, and a fiercely loyal underground following, Lente Viviente represents a creative peak, and this tour is the moment where that peak meets the stage. It’s also the bridge to whatever comes next, with “Opus Perficit” hinting at a new chapter already forming.
Little King are documenting a living, evolving project, one that still has plenty to say.
