Two of Britain’s most enduring and influential bands, Manic Street Preachers and Suede, are joining forces for a major co‑headline arena tour this autumn, marking one of the biggest alternative‑rock pairings the UK has seen in years. The run kicks off at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 28 October before rolling through Leeds, Manchester’s new Co‑op Live, a two‑night stand in Cardiff, London’s O2, Birmingham, Nottingham and Bournemouth.
For fans of either band, or both, this is a rare chance to see two era‑defining acts share the same bill at the height of their current creative momentum.
More than three decades on from Generation Terrorists, the Manics remain one of the UK’s most singular rock bands. Their 2025 album Critical Thinking sharpened their political and emotional edge for the social‑media age, earning widespread acclaim and reminding listeners why their voice still matters. Record Collector put it simply: “All these years later, they’re needed more than ever.”
On stage, the Manics continue to deliver the kind of cathartic, communal shows that have defined their legacy — from early anthems like You Love Us and Motorcycle Emptiness to chart‑topping classics If You Tolerate This… and A Design for Life, right through to newer cuts Decline & Fall and Hiding in Plain Sight. Their recent Royal Albert Hall performance drew praise from Mojo, who called it “a privilege to witness.”
Suede’s resurgence over the past few years has been nothing short of remarkable. Their 2022 album Autofiction became their highest‑charting release in two decades, and its follow‑up, 2025’s Antidepressants, cemented their status as one of the UK’s most vital live acts. Critics across The Guardian, MOJO, Uncut and Record Collector all named it among the year’s essential albums.
Described by Brett Anderson as their “post‑punk record,” Antidepressants channels the raw energy that has made Suede’s recent shows some of the most talked‑about of their career. Their sold‑out Southbank Centre residency, Suede Takeover, pushed their live show into bold new territory, while their 2026 UK and European tours saw them play to packed rooms across the continent. Right now, they’re touring China before heading to Japan’s Summer Sonic festival this summer.
Bringing these two heavyweight bands together for a full arena run feels like a genuine event, a celebration of longevity, reinvention and the enduring power of British alternative music. Fans can expect two full sets, two distinct worlds, and one unmissable night.
Tickets go on general sale Friday 1 May at 9:30am.
