It’s February 20th, that means there are exactly 9 days to go until we hit March! Great, longer days, warmer weather and hopefully we should be able to get out and about a bit more now that Boris has decided to turn his back on science and declare that all socially distanced regulations be dropped, good old Bozza, what a hero he is, he’s only doing his best etc (isn’t that something you say to a 6 year old when he’s polishing the car with wire wool?)
Anyway, don’t get me started on that straw haired buffoon, I have another 9 tracks of killer music to tell you all about courtesy of some incredible acts and bands from all over the world.
When you’re ready, hit the play button on the playlist below and enjoy. Whilst you do so, why not check out the bios and social links from our feature artists which can be found below the playlist.
See you on the other side.
Kid Apollo
Kid Apollo (aka Rory Mullan) is a solo artist and songwriter hailing from Derry in Northern Ireland, self producing all his music from his home studio.
In a short amount of time, several of his songs have found themselves at home on many top playlists and radio stations, including BBC Introducing where he has had 3 tracks spun as ‘world exclusives’ on ‘Across the Line’ in the space of 8 months.
The 25 year old musician is on a mission to deliver as many catchy rock/pop anthems as one can muster, for all those who will listen - and quite possibly, he’ll be bringing them to a venue near you.
“A song that was written about someone else that ended up being about myself” is how Kid Apollo describes his new single “Catching Buses”. Lyrically, the song relates to just about anyone over a certain age (“you’re drinking, but drinking won’t stop problems”) whilst musically it sits comfortably in the familiar landscape of indie-pop/rock that’s inhabited by the likes of The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and Metronomy whilst containing its own unique sonic palette.
"Catching Buses" is as straightforward in its structure as it is in its concept, but its hooks will undeniably sink into your brain in no time at all.

The Roadside Bandits Project
The Roadside Bandits Project is the brainchild of Santi Arribas whose career in music has spanned record production and mixing through to club/venue sound design & more. His creative influences include classic guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Johnson & BB King, as well as the blues & psychedelic genres as a whole.
Boris Johnson should be running scared as Santi Arribas, has joined forces once again with singer Julian Casewell to deliver a rock blues guitar-driven track that exposes the excesses and contempt of a government at a time when a whole nation is afflicted by the devastating effects of the Coronavirus.
The track is produced and mixed by Santi Arribas himself and recorded at London’s Rear Window Studios.
The single also features guest musicians Mark Neary on bass (Noel Gallagher, Adele, Sting and Hotei) and drummer Jon Finnigan (Gang Of Four, Bernie Marsden, Ian Gillan and Julian Perreta). Guitars and synths were recorded by Santi Arribas.
The song draws a sombre parallel with the lives and myths of historical figures such as Nero and Marie Antoinette. It’s a tale of extremes, cheese and wine parties, and very expensive wallpaper…..

Ella Bee
‘Underwater’ is Ella Bee's second self-produced single.
Ella is a singer, songwriter and producer based in South East London.
She wrote and produced the track herself and all the visuals were shot by her incredibly talented sister Maya who studies photography at the London College of Fashion. She is currently a completely independent artist meaning this project was entirely self-funded.
Written during lockdown, it explores how sometimes goals seem impossible to reach, drifting further away from where you want to be but knowing that you're ready to prove yourself as a confident, independent woman who can do anything she sets her mind to. It's about letting go of things you believe are important to make space for better things to come.
Underwater builds on the momentum of Ella Bee’s previous singles Artificial Heart and Chardonnay, both of which were featured on BBC Introducing”
Definitely an artist to keep a close eye on during 2022.

Pyano ||
Canadian rapper Pyano || (Eleven) kicks off the New Year with a provocative new single 'Way I See It' out now on all digital streaming platforms.
'Way I See It' is the latest single from Pyano's debut EP set for release later this year. Driven by a vibrant and energetic groove, 'Way I See It' is all about Pyano's journey of finding his sound as an artist.
"I’m always somewhere between the motivational, hardcore rap that I grew up on versus the more melodic stuff that I listen to today," says Pyano. "On this track, specifically, I find a good balance between the two which as a result enables me to celebrate the milestones of success in my life in spite of this whole pandemic thing. Despite the challenges and obstacles over the last couple years, I’m exactly where I planned to be, and further, which is why this track is a good representation of all the lessons I learned through all that."
Born in Amman, Jordan but currently living in Ottawa, Canada, Pyano has mastered the art of bringing charged vibes on records, ranging from lyrically conscious to catchy melodic anthems. His music transcends borders between hip hop sub-genres using witty yet motivational lyrics and a bouncy cadence to give us his smooth signature style over an infectious piano laced beat.
Pyano released 3 singles in 2021, 'Closed Off', 'Pineapple Juice' and 'From the Beginning', his biggest single so far, and continues to make his introduction to the rap game known with his latest single, 'Way I See It' while teasing his first EP which will be out in 2022.

Sweet, Coins!
Sweet, Coins! are a no-nonsense, hard hitting quintet from Hatfield formed of Louis (Straight Fuckin') Forsyth on Lead Guitar, Micky Dear on Rhythm Guitar, Sophie Radley on Drums, Derian Lauer on Bass and Tommy Coyne on Vocals.
Drawing influence from the likes of You Me At Six, Neck Deep, State Champs, Waterparks, Nothing But Thieves, Enter Shikari and Holding Absence, the backbone of the band came together at University. Tommy, Micky and Derian met back in 2016 around the Cambridgeshire area then they all moved down to Hertfordshire for University or moved there regardless. They met Louis and Sophie along the way and became the loveable band they are today!
The track was recorded in Sheffield at "Steel City Studios" (between band trips to the local IKEA store) the studios were where bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Blink 182 and Sleeping With Sirens have recorded. After that it was passed to Grant Berry for Mastering duties.
They've started to record a music video for the track, It involves some funny cameos and integrates their personalities into one, watch this space for more info on that as it unfolds!
