NEWS: WHISKEY MYERS unleash late-night thunder with new single ‘Midnight Woman’....

July 18, 2025

With a title like Whomp Whack Thunder, you’d expect a sonic storm—and Whiskey Myers are delivering just that. The East Texas six-piece have dropped Midnight Woman, the third single from their upcoming seventh studio album, and it’s a swampy, seductive fever dream that hits like a shot of Southern moonshine.

Midnight Woman opens with a slow-burning intro that quickly erupts into a gritty groove soaked in bluesy swagger and classic rock muscle. Cody Cannon’s vocals are all grit and mystique as he conjures a femme fatale who “storms in like thunder and leaves you dizzy in her wake.” It’s voodoo meets vintage rock, and it’s got the kind of late-night energy that lingers long after the lights go down.

The track follows Tailspin and Time Bomb, both of which have already made waves—Time Bomb is climbing the Active Rock charts, signalling the band’s growing crossover appeal.

Due out September 26th via their own Wiggy Thump Records, Whomp Whack Thunder is shaping up to be Whiskey Myers’ most ambitious and emotionally raw record yet. Produced by Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Cage the Elephant), the album was crafted during an immersive three-week session in Nashville and features eleven tracks written solely by Cannon.

“We didn’t set out to chase a specific sound—we set out to make a Whiskey Myers record,” says guitarist John Jeffers. “Jay pulled something out of us that’s raw and real… this might just be our most fearless album yet”.

The band’s signature blend of Southern rock, country soul, and arena-sized grit is on full display, with Joyce adding keys, organ, and guitar to stretch their sonic palette from greasy riffs to gospel-tinged introspection.

Whiskey Myers have built their empire the old-fashioned way—nearly 3,000 live shows, 2.5 million albums sold, and over 3.7 billion streams. From opening for The Rolling Stones to appearing in Yellowstone, their grassroots momentum has turned into full-blown cultural impact.

With Whomp Whack Thunder, they’re not just riding the storm—they’re the ones bringing it.
