Andy Quick, it turns out, is a multifaceted musician and songwriter, he writes much more widely than the rather splendid brass fuelled funk of Land of the Giants. He has been collaborating and writing with Josie Boucharde, Jackal Hebb and Martin Jenkeys for 2 years and has gathered an eclectic collection of songs together for a new album to be released in the 2018.
Andy has recently released a video of his latest track; "5 Less" recorded as part of the prestigious BBC Music Introduces output. It’s a stunning track, beginning with a guitar fuelled riff and leading into a superb indie-electro-blues track with Andy’s distinctive voice caressing his lyrics over the top of an outstanding piano/guitar riff. The lyrics themselves are a mysterious rant about everything and nothing, a dark overtone to what is frankly a very jolly tune. I asked Andy what the track was about and he added more mystery to a set of gloriously baffling lyrics; “The beauty of abstract lyrics is that it can mean anything that you the listener want it to mean.” That wisdom left me none the wiser, but still thoroughly entranced by a truly compelling track.
"5 Less" is released on the back of a 14 date South of England tour in the Spring where the band hit form landing them slots at some of the best UK festivals of the summer including Glastonbury, Port Elliot and Sunrise Celebration. Andy has a unique voice and a knack for a catchy chorus., take note folks, this band is tight and the hype is growing fast.

The Andy Quick Band play a fusion of styles; blues to hip hop with a pulse and a reggae bounce. It’s reminiscent of 90’s indie songwriting, it’s 'feel good' stuff and can be delivered as a high-powered electric set or as laid back acoustic. Look out for news of a tour in the spring of 2018.
