In this new feature, we take a look at some popular music blogs and re-post what they’ve been talking about over the past week.
Kicking off proceedings, we headed over to www.louderthanwar.com where we found an interesting piece on the 25th anniversary of REM’s Automatic For The People album, which hit the shelves way back in 1992, a live review of Adam Ant at Camden’s Roundhouse and a review of the latest long player called Dry and High by a band called Hightown Pirates who we fell in love with after watching them support The Libertines on their recent tour of UK seaside haunts.
Next up, it was over to amusicblogyea.com where we stumbled upon a fab live review of the mighty Future Islands at the O2 Apollo in Manchester, a video interview with Maximo Park and some stunning live photographs of At The Drive In and Royal Blood when they performed recently at Brighton Centre.
drunkenwerewolf.com ran an introducing piece on Hattie Briggs, a live review of Blanco White at the Hoxton Square Bar & Grill and took a listen to the new album Rest from Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Over at goldflakepaint.co.uk, they ran an album of the year feature on Not Even Happiness by Julie Byrne, they chatted to Jamil Rashad about his Boulevards project and took a listen to new track ‘Breathe’ by Dead Sullivan
hitthefloor.com covered King Krule when he performed live at Camden’s KOKO and chatted to comedian Mark Watson who reveals his fantasy album track-listing
pitchfork.com give us a rundown of their top 50 albums of 2017 and provides a review of No-One Ever Really Dies, the new long player from N.E.R.D.
