Estar (the Spanish for ‘to be’) refers to where someone is at - physically or mentally - at a specific moment. In truth, ‘E s t a r a’ (the spaces are intentional) takes its name from the house where much of the record was created, so it’s the perfect title for the second full-length album from Mtendere Mandowa, better known as Los Angeles-based producer Teebs, as he is right now.

'Enter The Slasher House’ is the debut album from Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks, released on Domino. 

Much has been said and written about 'Nixon', the album that broke Nashville's finest little big band into the mainstream in the UK. It was album of the month left right and center and album of the year in Uncut, if we remember it correctly. Maybe not. Still, it's sophisticated mix of alt.country, white man's Soul music, gospel choirs and thick use of strings and Kurt Wagner's last chance to lay down some falsetto vocals before age, smoking and whiskey caught up with him were a sensation.

Down With The Dawn' is Howie B’s first studio album in 5 years, and the first release on his new HB Recordings label. Inspired by the passing of two of his closest friends, the album has a melancholic edge to it.
