Enigmatic new artist Leo Kalyan has unveiled his debut mixtape, titled Stranger. 

A collection of 7 songs, Stranger, unlike it’s namesake is a musical introduction into the world of Leo Kalyan. It is a flirtatious insight in to his influences, sounds, textures and unbounded capabilities as a producer, vocalist and songwriter.

UK based rockers 'To Kill a King' are releasing their new self titled album on March 2nd.

Richard Maule is a London based folk/rhythm & blues singer who loves his 'loopy pedal' (not the technical name) and iPad, he sent me some really cool music to check out a little while ago and I liked it so much, I invited him to take part in our 'Introducing' feature where all the stars of today have cut their teeth.

Remember Sam Smith? Ella Eyre? Rae Morris? none of these have taken it upon themselves to reply to my begging emails and look where they are! still attending open mic nights in Walthamstow, begging for a night on a strangers couch, anyway, I digress.....

We met up with Richard in a good old traditional London boozer where we ordered 2 pints of 'mild', sat down in a booth and had a good old chat about desert island discs, cool hangouts in Camden and Bill Withers, here's how we got on....

Formed in 2013, Patrons come from a city by the sea in the South West, UK. Born out of long-standing friendships and a common love of the unconventional, Patrons make a noise that gives a nod to the expanse of bands like This Will Destroy You and Thrice, yet also a tip of the hat to the stop-start rhythms of bands like Reuben and La Dispute.

Gothic pop band Jape released ‘Seance of Light’ on January 12th, the second single to be taken from their highly anticipated fifth studio album ‘This Chemical Sea’. 

The new track is Jape’s follow-up to ‘The Heart’s Desire’, the Peaking Lights remix of which premiered on The Line of Best Fit and was played on BBC Radio 1 by Huw Stephens.  

It was recently announced that 18 year old  ATLien musical prodigy Raury has come 4th in the BBC Sound Of 2015 Poll.  The news accompanies the announcement of his upcoming single and first release of the year – ‘God’s Whisper’ – which will be released on March 16th via Columbia.

Rob Lynch is currently on a tour of the UK with US singer songwriter Allison Weiss and local acts as support. Due to the, already heavily reported, situation regarding Front Porch Step - which we will dwell on no further here - he is no longer a part of the tour. But Rob and Alison are resolved to make these dates a celebration of songwriting without him and the show will go on!

I was trawling through some very old material that would have been on the old version of the musicmuso website, lo and behold, I stumbled across an interview that we did with Boz Boorer (founding member of the Polecats and more recently, Morrissey's guitarist). I managed to catch him whilst he was in LAX Airport waiting to board a plane back to the UK.

Butch Walker’s latest offering is filled with heart wrenching passion devoted to his late father, the lead single Fathers Day is gentle, soulful and from the heart as is the whole album. Opening track Afraid of Ghosts is raw and delicate whilst follow up track I Love You is tender and sweet reminding me of the love songs that Train have so wonderfully delivered to newly weds in recent years.
