Wolf Alice....appearing in Devon? I could just about comprehend this news if they were playing at Plymouth Pavilions or the University in Exeter so when I heard the gig was to take place at The Wharf in Tavistock, I honestly thought I'd been pranked! Imagine my surprise when I checked on their Facebook page and there it was, spelt out for me to see. Tickets went on sale at 10am the next day, I was in work so asked my lovely wife to sit by the computer at 9:55am and hit the refresh button every few seconds. She called me at 10:03am, to tell me that ALL of the tickets had sold out....in under 3 minutes....insane! I was gutted, I just had to be there, I have two kidneys so considered putting one up for auction, maybe my children's kidneys might be in better shape than mine....

WILDWOOD KIN will be performing at PHOENIX SOUND on Saturday 19th August ahead of signing their debut album Turning Tides which will be released on Friday 18th August. Checkout two infectious, synthy, psychedelic funk anthems from Los Angeles psych indie-pop artist Julian Borrego, entitled ’Small Talk’ and ‘Xeriscape'. They'rereminiscent of Tame Impala and Toro Y Moi. With an ever growing fanbase and media interest, Borrego is very much an artist on the rise. 

Pattern Pusher are a multi-genre band who hail from Exeter, they've been working on their debut E.P P.S, which was recorded in mainly bedrooms and lounges around Devon as they couldn't afford much studio time. Tonight was the launch party for the EP, the Phoenix was the venue and by the looks of things, it was going to be a good night as many folk had arrived early to socialise over a few beers ahead of the evening's entertainment unfolding. As you'll probably be aware, musicmuso.com is helping to promote an East London festival called SHINDIGNATION which takes over 4 venues with over 40 acts on Saturday August 5th. To generate a bit of interest, we thought it would be great to chat to a few of the bands who are to play there.
