Featuring two members of New Order and two from art rockers Devo, Shadowparty's eponymous debut album is bristling with hi-energy synth pop. Featuring vocals from Denise Johnson (Primal Scream, New Order, A Certain Ratio) and guitar from Nick McCabe (The Verve) it has received rave reviews across the board.

Formed of various members of New Order, Devo and The Verve, ShadowParty's heritage is nothing if not inspirational. Musically, this self-titled debut leans towards the former's Siren's Call era, its side-project Bad Lieutenant and the most recent Music Complete, particularly on the opening "Celebrate" and the Euro-boogie of "Reverse The Curse" which also uncannily resembles "Shellshock" once the chorus kicks in. 

After what seemed like weeks (or in the case of the organiser Sadie Horler, months) of preparation, the day had come, today was the day when 25 musicians, bands and artists would come together for the Musicians Against Homelessness event hosted at The Phoenix in Exeter.

I’ve been a fan of Eddi Reader’s since I was sixteen years old, which - I realised as I walked into the Phoenix on the night of the 26th of August - meant that I’ve been listening to (and playing) her music for over thirty years now. Her long and impressive career, that has included three BRIT awards, an Ivor Novello and a double platinum album with ‘Fairground Attraction’, is the envy of many a female artist, particularly as - at the age of 59 - she still shows no sign of slowing down creatively.

I received an email from a lady called Vicky who I couldn't help thinking I knew...... It wasn't until she mentioned a band called THE RAMONAS until it all clicked into place (she plays in the band). She told me of a new band called COCKWOMBLE that she was in and that they had just launched a new EP 'Henchmen', we took a listen and fell in love with it straight away and decided it would be a great time to have a chat and learn a little more about this upbeat trio of talent from Brighton, here's how we got on.

Muse have announced that their new studio album, Simulation Theory, will be released on November 9th through Warner Music. The eleven-track record was produced by the band, along with producers Rich Costey, Mike Elizondo, Shellback and Timbaland. Each of the album’s songs will be accompanied by a video.
