For those of you not in the know, the New Lion Brewery was active between 1850 – 1926 and at its peak, owned 26 pubs which served its award winning beers. Fast forward to 2013, a passionate group of Totnesians brought the brewery back to life when they started to brew beer once again to boost the local economy. A new brewery was built on Station Road in Totnes and has since moved to Webbers Yard in Dartington where they have the capacity to produce 45 barrels of beer per week. In addition to their 3 basic beers, they have also been working with local businesses and community groups to create experimental and one-off beers such as a pumpkin ale, a chilli beer and even a mushroom stout. The brewery now has approximately 270 shareholders.

As much as I love the immediacy and accessibility of a good single, there is nothing quite like a nice, cohesive album to sink your teeth into. If you are hungry for a deep, quality album to get lost in, Remayn’s ‘Him Always. Them Sometimes. Her Forever’ is one such album. It has plenty of atmospheric music to send you into pure, euphoric levitation.

It is an incredible time in history for music. If you can think it up, it probably exists. If it doesn’t, you can buy some equipment, watch some YouTube videos, learn how to create it yourself, and then post it to soundcloud for free. With so much for the consumer to choose from, it can be difficult to stand out. Up-and-coming artist Laura Greaves does not have that problem. Her creepy-crawly club music has been on my radar for a while now and she has hit the jackpot with ‘Psychopath’.

We caught up with Aussie singer songwriter RUBY FIELDS ahead of the release of her debut album ‘Been Doin’ It For A Bit’....
I was introduced ‘virtually’ to a wonderful singer songwriter from Australia called RUBY FIELDS, she is releasing her debut album 'Been Doin’ It For A Bit’ on September 24th and we were keen to have a chat and find out a bit more about her ahead of the release date. Here’s how we got on….
Read MoreA Reimagining Worth Hearing, ‘Not Now Norman’s’ New Spin On A Previously Released Track
While I have always loved a good remix (or reimagining, if you will), I do think some of them are overindulgent and unnecessary. That is not the case with ‘Not Now Norman’s’ revamp of their previous single ‘Run Boy.’ The single is question is ‘Run Boy Pt. 2’ and it does several things that make it a lovely and vital contribution to ‘Not Now Norman’s’ music catalogue.

A gloomy midweek day in Plymouth, not much on the tellybox, “I know, let’s head out to a show”, “who’s performing?”, “Do you fancy The Specials? they’re on at Plymouth Pavilions”….”I’ll get my coat!”
This was pretty much the conversation I had with a good friend literally on the afternoon of the show.
Having last seen the band in 2019 on their Encore UK tour, I was keen to see them perform their classic hits as well as a few newer ones in a live environment, it’s been a long time, so we were certainly excited!
