VELVET SHAKES have steadily been releasing catchy singles since 2018. As they continue to permeate the music scene with their special brand of indie-pop-rock, they are all set to release their debut EP, ‘Mellowdrama.’ Consisting of four tracks, the EP wastes no time getting listeners moving. So far every track is my favorite, but I’ll start in ascending order…..

What do you get if you cross a milestone grunge album with the town of Totnes in sunny Devon, I’ll tell you, you get NIRVANIA, a band formed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the critically acclaimed album ‘Nevermind’ by grunge pioneers NIRVANA, read on to see how the evening panned out.

My current goto electro-pop artist is without a doubt Alan Dreezer. He first caught my attention with the release of his debut album titled ‘London E12’ back in 2018. This is an incredible electro-pop album and was the best introduction I could have had to him as an artist. Now, he has released his new album 'H E A L E D' and has been dropping a string of singles leading up to its release yesterday.

Fans of Erik Odsell will be ecstatic to know that his incredible, 8-track album, titled ‘Human,’ will be released on vinyl this fall. I have been enjoying the album since its release and cannot wait to hear it in record form. This kind of high-quality album deserves the full justice of being available in the listening format to end all listening formats.

Sam Thomas has been lurking around the scene through various different music projects (i.e. punk bands, indie bands, acoustic driven solo work etc). Though he has dabbled in a little bit of everything, he has finally found the artistic, musical medium that best suits his talents: his own brand of hip/hop. He has a new single in that vein that dropped on September 15th. 'No More' is masterfully crafted and structured in a way that ensures the message of the song is poignantly communicated.

The ‘Revive Live’ scheme has been organised by the Music Venues Trust, in conjunction with the National Lottery - which is contributing £1 million to help grass roots venues get back on their feet after 18 months of near inactivity.

More than 20 tours will be staged with this money, featuring the likes of Olivia Dean, Twin Atlantic, The Magic Gang and The Futureheads, Pip Blom, Wolf Alice, Frank Turner and Bob Vylan at venues across the UK.

Tonight, it was Exeter Phoenix that played host to The Vaccines, a band that have kept their heads above the sonic waterline with a plethora of hits from 5 albums since 2011.

Some call it the eighth wonder of the world, others call it a glorified garden centre, whatever you call it, Tonight saw IDLES play the Eden Project in Cornwall with their killer live show, supported by Spectres and Black Honey, read on to see how the evening panned out.

“There is a concept behind this album,” says the band. “We didn’t want to just put 12 high octane songs out there. Each song has a meaning and is relevant to the story that unfolds, so there’s more to it than meets the ear…for us, the title is significant to what we were experiencing as a band during the recording of this album. It was more of a rhetorical question to ourselves, and for anyone listening - if you really want something, go out and get it.”
