March 15, 2022

Funke and the Two Tone Baby is a one-man phenomenon who mixes folky singalong anthems with blistering blues riffs, juxtaposed with fat bass, big beats and sub kicks. It is always a high energy, four to the floor show whenever he is in town and post the covid hiatus, it was time to get your dancing pants on, in the exquisite venue that is The Louisiana in Bristol.

LAZY QUEEN played an inspiring set at The Lanes in Bristol, read our live review....

March 8, 2022

I found myself in Bristol on a cold, March evening, why was I here? now that Russia has invaded the Ukraine and COVID is apparently no longer an issue, I have started to return to the office for my day job and it just so happened that my office days were Monday and Tuesday. What to do...... Well, I walked from the office to the hotel, dumped my bags and checked on the map to see where I was, I spotted a branch of 'Honest Burger', headed there for some food and as I was finishing up, I checked to see if there were any live gigs happening in the city. Much to my surprise, The Lanes had 2 bands on, Slug Puppie and Lazy Queen, I'd never heard of either of them so I thought I'd chance my arm and check them out.

We catch up with Canadian born, Hamburg based singer songwriter KINGA ANGELYS and chat about her recent single 'Hurricane'

March 6, 2022

With her latest track ‘Hurricane’, Kinga reveals an edgier offering than what she has produced in the past, this is more along the lines of an empowering and emotionally driven alternative/rock pop anthem like no other. It awakens themes of vulnerability and resilience, unveiling our potential in overcoming obstacles.

We love it and after hearing it wanted to catch up with Kinga to find out more about her as a person and an artist and dig into the past to see how she has become the person she is today.

We chatted about her early musical upbringing in Toronto, influences, dream festival lineups, future plans and even what she’d be drinking if we ever get to take her for a drink! Read on for all of this and more.

March 6, 2022

Formerly known as the lead singer for rock band D’Haze, Hazel Smith embarks on a solo journey with her new project H A Z E - A cinematic dark pop style with hints of electro, she experiments with other genres such as synth wave and prog rock. Even though words and voices hold a central place in her solo work, H A Z E gives a lot of importance to sound design and arrangements to carefully craft each song’s sonic imprint and create a different ambience each time, along with artistic imagery and visuals.

musomusofm on the radar playlist #31 - The Tell Alls, Isolated Corners, Ian David Green and more....

March 6, 2022

Here we are on March 9th with yet another 9 tracks for you from acts based all over the world. Someone asked me recently if I ever get bored of doing the playlists and my answer was a simple ‘no’. I mean how can you ever get bored of listening to music from so many people, so many styles and genres out there to choose from, if you do ever get bored, you need to think about widening your mindset and stepping outside of your comfort zones now and then, it’s quite liberating!

On this playlist you can look forward to some incredible music from bands and artists based in Exeter, Stoke on Trent, Chesterfield, Nashville, Sydney, London and many other places.

musomusofm on the radar playlist #30 - Simon Taylor, Vanden Dool, Callipolis and more....

March 6, 2022

Well folks, it’s been exactly 48 hours since the last ‘on the radar’ playlist dropped, I am slowly making my way through the tracks that I have received and by the start of April, I’ll be back on track and maybe able to drop back to pushing them out every 3-4 days, we’ll just have to see!

On this one, we have a broad spread of tracks from artists all over the world, from Coventry to Liverpool, from Alberta, Canada to New York City, we certainly do clock up the air miles and who knows, maybe one day we’ll be eligible for a tour of a departure lounge (though I would much prefer a return first class trip to NYC for a weekend break!)
