Everything Everything (EE) have challenged themselves to construct an even more intriguing, pop-laced offering compared to their previous five releases. They have come up from the surface of a sub-lunar landscape with a sublime, future classic. Now that Wild Beasts are no more, the space left behind is ready for filling with left-field lyricism and ridiculously catchy and intelligent songwriting. Barely a note or keyboard frill is wasted in their quest for melancholic perfection that still allows you to dance furiously and coo aloud, like nobody is ever really watching.

Irish harpist and singer Joy Shannon has partnered with the dark ambient/black noise artist T.O.M.B. and released a two-song single called “Death My Bride” on Beltane (May 1). “Death My Bride” includes haunting versions of the Irish traditional “Stretched on your Grave” and Tim Buckley’s “Song of the Siren.”

2022 marks the 40th anniversary of the debut album of one of the most critically-acclaimed and pioneering bands to come out of the UK. Talk Talk’s The Party’s Over was a start of a journey for Mark Hollis (vocals), Simon Brenner (keyboards), Lee Harris (drums), and Paul Webb (bass) who constantly evolved throughout their career from synth-pop beginnings into pioneering avant-garde post-rock in the latter stages of the band, being a large influence on artists such as Radiohead, St. Vincent and many more.
