Following an incredible set at Boardmasters Festival this year, Australian alt-country / indie-folk three piece SONS OF THE EAST are in Exeter tonight in support of their forthcoming album: ‘Palomar Parade’.

We were invited along to THE PHOENIX in Exeter to check out a band called THE HANDSOME FAMILY, not one that we’ve come across before so I packed my cameras and hot footed it down to the venue to see what was going on….

We were offered the chance to interview a superb Canadian country music act called THE BOBBY TENDERLOIN UNIVERSE, who better to test out a new interview format with…..what could possibly go wrong?!

musomuso was invited along to this niche little festival in the heart of Worcestershire, with the added advantage of being 5 minutes from home. The sun was shining, the camera batteries charged, so off we pottered.

Australian three-piece SONS OF THE EAST have announced a run of UK and Ireland live dates this August/September.

The band are also gearing up to release their new album ‘Palomar Parade’, arriving on 23 September.

24 Songs sees David Gedge writing with legendary Sleeper guitarist Jon Stewart for the first time, and a more perfect union could not have been predicted. The first release includes a gorgeous duet featuring David and Louise Wener [also from Sleeper] on ‘We Should Be Together’, and it’s coupled with a rousing new track called ‘Don’t Give Up Without A Fight’ which combines classic Wedding Present feistiness with a Krautrock finale.

Her Skin released a brand new single ‘Suitable’ on the 22nd July, via WWNBB. Originally from Modena, Italy, Her Skin is 25-year-old singer songwriter, Sara Ammendolia. ‘Suitable’ is very personal song and is extra special as she wrote the song with her dad, who is also a musician. This is the third single taken from her forthcoming album ‘I Started A Garden’, that will be released later this year.

As you’ll see from the website, we’ve been chasing many artists and bands around, badgering them for interviews ahead of the Mucky Weekender festival that takes place in Winchester over the weekend of 9th/10th September. Having missed Hollie Cook performing at Beautiful Days in Exeter, we were super keen to sit her down and ask her a few questions about the festival, the recording of her latest record and her top three festival survival tips!
