Fleetwood's own Harrison Rimmer just released his latest single ‘Tough Love’, following the release of his debut album ‘Larkholme’ in 2022! This year we see Harrison returning with the first single from his second album ‘Cheaper Than Therapy’.

The latest leg of 90s indie icons Suede and Manic Street Preachers’ joint tour rolled into Manchester on July 12 for the Sounds of the City show. Having attended this in 2022 to see Pixies deliver a rollocking, machine-gun fire set of hits and deep cuts, I found the venue to be well-suited – open air, yet retaining an element of intimacy for the fans, not too long to queue at the (OK, expensive!) bar. Expectations were high then for this event, what with both acts now being veterans of the live and recorded music arenas.

We were invited along to catch the mighty PLACEBO when they performed at the Canons marsh Amphitheatre in the heart of Bristol a while back. Being the adventurous person I am, I reached out to Anna from a band called FRIEDBERG who opened for them on the night and asked if we could have a chat to her after their set. Naturally, she jumped at the chance and met us behind the main bar to chat, here’s how we got on….

Molesto is a dark, humorous song about a dog, as viewed by a friend with cynophodia (an overwhelming fear of dogs). A mutual friend has a dog, nicknamed “Molesto”, that just wants to be friends and won’t leave visitors alone.  When they meet it is a match made in hell. Every thing in life is a potential song!

In 1990, Ronny Anderson founded Hummdrumm Records in Wraysbury, marking the label's humble beginnings as an independent imprint under Discovery Sounds distribution. The inaugural act, UK TAG, made their debut with the vinyl EP "Amateurs" and later released the CD single "Examine Me Roughly," establishing a foothold in the indie music scene.

Cork-based band The Lost Gecko has released an album that is both unique and evocative, titled "The Fox and the Lie." This album delves into the complexities of humanity's relationship with nature, highlighting the often overlooked cruelty we inflict upon it. Through a series of meticulously crafted songs, the band explores themes that challenge our normalized views of the natural world.

‘Vacation’ is the latest addition to Theresa’s vibrant sound. It’s an upbeat, fun, and infectiously vibrant energetic bop that evokes the lively spirit of a Madonna soundtrack. The song was born during a relaxing stay at the Beloved Playa Mujeres resort in Mexico, where the lyrics and melody began to form in the most unexpected place – the bathroom.

Gideon Foster has released "Come The Rain," a new single that touches on profound themes of faith and relinquishing control.

On the surface, R&B and soul singer Alanna Royale appeared to be brimming with confidence, yet the artist behind the internal earthquake ‘Trouble Is’, insists that until this latest LP, she felt fragmented. Only after the most unnerving time of her life, did Royale finally feel at ease, bringing her full artistic self to the table. “There is a lyric by one of my favourite rappers that goes, “You gave me the tools but didn’t show me how to hold them”, she explains, citing how everything finally congealed on this record. After a brutal period that ended with an emotional collapse, Royale produced her most hauntingly honest, poetic collection of songs yet. “I wanted to make something so intensely personal but now have to live with it,” she partially jokes. 

Totnes came to life last night to celebrate the release of local folk duo Harbottle & Jonas's new album, Wild Goose. The launch was held at St Mary’s Church, right in the heart of the town. Arriving at 7pm, I found the place packed with excitement and anticipation, with a mix of familiar and new faces all gathered with a common purpose in this wonderful location.

Following the release of a new single Solitude Of The Night Bus, and news of their forthcoming seventh album Pink Cactus Café, Courteeners have announced details of an autumn arena tour of the UK. Support on all dates (except London) comes from DMA’S.
