The Trinity Centre in Bristol was alive with anticipation as The Waeve, the brilliant collaboration between Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall. 'Dancing Don't Feel Right', recorded and mixed with Ollie Searle at Humm Studios and mastered by John Webber (David Bowie, Duran Duran, Coach Party) is a refreshing dose of escapism which feels both incredibly current yet built to last, their signature brand of genre-fluidity ensuring they exist completely outside of time. The track urges listeners to leave their inhibitions and responsibilities at the door and lean into the things they shouldn't.

Walking into Loves Cafe on a crisp March evening, it was already clear that this wasn’t going to be your run-of-the-mill gig. The pre-show festivities, organised by Getdown Services Appreciation founders Andy and Kerry, set the tone perfectly with a peculiar crisp-tasting competition that paid homage to the band’s debut album, Crisps. Buckets of bewildering flavours delighted—and occasionally repulsed—their small but devoted community of fans. This oddball spirit carried right into the night.

Live music is a visceral experience—a shared moment of connection between performers and their audience. But in a world where a concert is as much about social media posts as it is about music, the role of smartphones at gigs has sparked fierce debate. Are these devices enhancing the experience, allowing us to preserve memories and share them with the world, or are they detracting from the moment and stripping away the essence of live music?
