They Might Be Giants return with "The World Is to Dig" — A playful, restless leap forward

February 16, 2026

They Might Be Giants have never been a band to sit still. Across four decades, John Linnell and John Flansburgh have built a catalogue that treats pop music like a giant toy box — something to rummage through, dismantle, reassemble, and occasionally set on fire just to see what happens. Their new album, The World Is to Dig, arriving April 14, feels like another chapter in that wonderfully unpredictable story.

After a decade spent fuelling dancefloors and festival fields with HENGE’s cosmic, high‑energy prog, Manchester composer Matthew C. Whitaker has taken a sharp, deliberate breath inward. His new miniature album, Songs for the Weary, is a quiet rebellion against burnout — a record built for those who need to slow the world down long enough to feel human again.

OSWALD SLAIN: The Bristol oddities bringing their wry, wild rock n' roll to New York City

February 13, 2026

Some bands thrive on polish. Oswald Slain thrives on glorious chaos. The Bristol outfit return this spring with Hot Boys — a sleazy, tongue‑in‑cheek self‑help anthem for the delusional generation — and they’re celebrating by hopping across the Atlantic for three New York City shows in March 2026. It’s their first-ever US trip, and it couldn’t come at a better moment.

LIVE REVIEW: ASH supported by Later Youth – Exeter Phoenix, 10 February 2026

February 11, 2026

Exeter Phoenix buzzed with an unexpected midweek electricity on Tuesday night as a sold‑out crowd packed in for ASH’s UK tour — a run so hot, it’s sitting at 99% sold out, with only Hull’s ‘Welly’ venue still clinging to a handful of tickets. But before the Northern Irish power‑trio detonated their catalogue across the room, the evening opened with a quietly dazzling set from Later Youth, a band whose classic sensibilities and understated swagger made them the perfect foil for what was to come.

Rat Trap "All The Same" is a sharp, swaggering step forward for Plymouth’s indie rock outsiders

February 8, 2026

Indie rock may be overflowing with sound‑alike hopefuls right now, but Plymouth’s Rat Trap are clearly not interested in joining the herd. Their latest single, All the Same, is a reminder that guitar music still has teeth when a band is willing to sharpen the edges rather than sand them down.

🎧 Top Ten most anticipated Record Store Day 2026 releases - Is your favourite on the list?

February 8, 2026

We here at musomuso.com have been covering Record Store Day for the past goodness knows how many years, I think my first RSD (as a customer) was back in 2012 when I stood outside a shop from 4:30am to secure a copy of ‘The Queen is Dead’ by The Smiths. Whilst I was first in the queue and got my prized album, nobody joined me in the queue until 8:30am, 30 minutes before opening time!

For the past 5-6 years, we have supported a wonderful local record shop called Phoenix Sounds in Newton Abbot. I arrived at 6:45am last year to see over 50 people in the queue, this had doubled by the time the store opened at 8am!

LAMB OF GOD stare down the void on INTO OBLIVION, their tenth studio album - Out 13 March via Century Media and Epic Records

January 30, 2026

Three decades into their career, Lamb Of God could easily coast on reputation alone. Instead, the Richmond titans are choosing confrontation — not with their peers, not with the industry, but with the world as it is now: fractured, volatile, and teetering on the edge of something none of us can quite name. Their tenth album, Into Oblivion, landing 13 March via Century Media and Epic Records, is the sound of a band refusing to look away.
