The influences of DJ Crimson Death are clear from his first line, with a voice sounding quite similar to Hoest of Norwegian Black Metal act ‘Taake’. As he bellows lyrics like, "Together we will fade away and you shall be reborn..", he not only channels Black Metal but delivers the lyrics with a vocal rap-like pace, creating a mood where you don't know whether to bob or bang your head and throw up your metal horns!!

I’d been given the chance to chat to the legend that is Glen Matlock who’s musical CV is as long as your arm. Amongst his numerous achievements is the co-authoring of 10 of the 12 tracks on ‘Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols’ which is quite possibly THE most seminal punk rock album in the world ever. He also created some amazing music with bands such as Rich Kids, London Cowboys and later on The International Swingers.

Having spent the last four years honing their craft, everything you think you know about them and their unique surrealist world is about to be wonderfully shaken up as they prepare to release their hugely anticipated self-titled debut album. It’s an album that celebrates being human, in all its different forms and by doing so, will touch the hearts of everyone that hears it.

It was nearly 5 years to the day that we last saw Big Country perform live at the Exeter Phoenix, okay, back then Mike Peters (The Alarm) was on lead vocals and Derek Forbes (Simple Minds) was providing bass guitar duties, tonight was going to be the first time that I had seen the lineup featuring Simon Hough who, despite being English, sounded remarkably like Stuart Adamson, sharing a similar vocal range which added a touch of familiarity to the songs.
