We were fortunate to see a band called SOOT SPRITE perform in Torquay just before Christmas, I have a feeling I may have seen them before but this was the first time I actually stood and watched their entire set, I liked it, I liked it a lot, I liked it so much, I chatted to Eli afterwards and she agreed to take part in an ‘Introducing’ feature for the site. I was fortunate to see local rapper Louis J Walker perform at Exeter’s OXJAM event in 2019, we caught up briefly after his set and I asked him if he’d like to take part in our ‘Introducing’ feature on the website, he said he’d love to (who wouldn’t?)

We chatted about his forthcoming EP, supporting AITCH at The Lemongrove in Exeter on January 17th and who he would most like to collaborate with in the future. For all this and WAY more, please read on….

As well as bands and musicians, I reach out to other people who, whilst they are not themselves involved in the ‘music scene’, still play a pivotal role in helping bands and artists to promote and market their services.

I recently got in touch with Paddy who runs a local company called ‘Badges 4 Bands’, whilst the name sort of describes what his company does, I still wanted to have a chat and find out more about the services he offers.

There was a feeling of nostalgia in the air at The Lemongrove tonight as two of the mightiest alternative/indie bands who gained magnificent success in the early 90’s prepared to take the audience on a musical roller coaster from the late 1980’s to present day.

I was amazed that so many people were wearing T-Shirts from ‘back in the day’, I had even managed to dig an old ‘Stuffies’ long sleeved shirt out of a bin liner in my attic, it smelt, it was oversized but who cares, this was a shirt I bought after falling in love with the band the first time around and I was proud as fuck to be celebrating the fact that, even after 30 years, Miles Hunt was still at the helm, driving the band forwards to pastures new….
